Question about Televison & Video
Thanks for using FixYa. A plasma TV is a very hard working device. It is working harder than any TV that has been built before, and as a result it produces a lot of heat. 75% of technical problems in plasma TV's are caused by overheating problems. You’ll need to check the power supply board first for any swollen/bulged capacitors. As power supply board is the hardest working board in a plasma TV, it develops voltage to supply all components, high current + high voltage. All this is only recommended if you have electrical expertise & know how to solder/re-solder components as these units contain high voltages even when switched off. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

The Service and training manual, inside this manual, are All you need to know to understand, troubleshoot, & repair your Plasma TV;
To effect a repair, though, it would be better, if you obtained a Service manual, for your exact make and model, of the I couldn't understand if you needed help with a Rear projection, or Plasma, so i have giben you links to generic service manual, these are what the TV engineers use to troubleshooting and repair, and to help them understand how they all work.
Blue screen means that there is NO INPUT, on/to the input that is currently selected. You should try connecting, another, some other, any other, signal source, say a DVD, or some other type of signal to isolate if it is the TV antenna, or the Input, selected, is OK or not.
it is nearly always my professional opinion that one should always get a "Quote" from the manufacturers recommended service center, you need to contact, a local office, of your sets manufacturer, and ask for a referral, to an Authorised service center, ask them for a "Quote" before you proceed with any repair, I cannot stress how important that last point is. It is even worth the cost of shipping. you see an authorised service agent, will have trained staff, trained on their brand, also they have first hand access to parts, original parts. This will actually save you money and ensure you can actually get it back fixed. Of course asking for a "Quote" also gives on the option of repair or replace. Often my clients,do not go through with repair, unless it is moderate, but in some of the more costly jobs they see it, as do i, that a replacement, with a warranty, is a better option. As an aside here, one could then tear the TV down, and sell the Known Good bits. You'd be surprised who needs parts, i myself often must by from third party sources to effect a repair. So money could be recouped, somewhat,and help out someone else.
