Infocus 250 projector won't power up

posted by TechPam on Mar 23, 2008

This projector was working fine but when unplugged for any length of time it won't come back on. If you unplug and move to another room in the school and quickly plug in it will come on. We used it in the school library and someone unplugged it and it sat overnight now it will not turn back on. Do you think it is the bulb, ballast, or what? We need it at school and I am trying to figure out what the problem is. Thanks

Urinate on the bulb. This sometimes lubricates the contraption that the bulb connects with and it usually comes on instantly.

Teach it a lesson. Leave it plugged in until it decides to come back on.
If you have a remote control, you can try turning it on with that.
Another option is carefully remove the lamp and put it back in again.
It might be a false connection problem.
One thing I always try is while plugged in and "supposedly" on, try dropping it about one half of an inch on the table top. If it has a loose connection, that sometimes fixes things.

Could simply be a defective power cord I suggest that you find a different power cord and see if the problem goes away
