What do see so far on the PCB? Any bad caps? Thses monitors use switching power supply that can take the input voltages from 80vac to 250vac with no problem.

Here are the service manuals:

I have a Fimcoatv sprayer with a high flo gold series pump mod # 5275704 ..the pressure will rise to 40psi & then drop to 20psi & then back to 40, this cycle continues through out the spraying...

As it is a diaphragm pump some pressure fluctuation will be normal but that is likely to be more of an oscillation at the speed of the pump rather than a steady or slow cycling of pressure.
If it is important those oscillations are damped to provide a smooth noise-free pressure the design would include an accumulator.

If everything remains constant - a constant fluid intake and a constant spraying orifice and the pump running at a constant speed then the pressure would be constant and the motor would be consuming a constant current.
Clearly something is not constant. Something must be changing and cycling to cause the pressure fluctuations. I have a theory but am not in a position to test the theory myself - Inserting an ammeter in series with the motor in the electrical supply to the pump and monitoring the current drawn should show it fluctuating at the same time the pressure fluctuates. If the current falls as the pressure falls my theory is the pump intake is being restricted somehow and if the current rises as the pressure falls the pump is labouring due to outlet being restricted in some way or because there is a motor fault. It would be important to monitor the supply voltage at the pump at the same time to ensure it remains stable.

Does not power up. was on a surge protector. lost power in building several times during hurricane Irene

A surge protector is there to protect against high spikes in electricity and not fluctuations.

The possibility exists that the components were damaged due to fluctuations in the electricity received by your computer. It is for this reason that an UPS or Uninterruptible Power Supply would most likely have saved your computer as it helps provide your computer with a smooth supply of electricity.

One would assume that the power supply is somewhat toast however in most cases it is unfortunately the most fragile component that goes first, being the mainboard. See my published guide to help and diagnose the faulty components, entitled
My Computer is not turning on!!! Is it dead!!! No POST!!!

Make sure that the wall outlet is working, test it by pluging a device into the outlet, check that it is being powered. Also in some computer power plugs a Fuse is placed within the actual plug. If this is the case then you may be in luck as it would then be possible that the fuse is blown. One would then replace the fuse and presto good as new.

Let me know how it goes!

Take care!

My monitor is power turn itself every 5 minutes, please advice me the solving methodl

It's the problem of overheating in the power supply board of the TV.on the power supply board of the tv there are few capacitors and IC.any of this ic is got short or may be due to this when you start the TV the current passes from electric outlet to the power supply board of TV.but when the current passes from that weak/faulty part at that time current gets stopped or slow and the board overheats and TV shuts off. this is a common problem faced by many other users too.the possible option to solve this issue is to check the power supply board by a meter and continuity tester and replace the faulty component on the board which is short due to which power supply board is getting overheated.its bit technical job but yes its not at all a costly repair to do or get it done by the technician. for required parts it can be easily available from local electronic hardware shop. Take care in solving the problem.....

When switching on my PC the LG L1900R monitor Flickers badly for about five minutes then works correctly..Are there any Known problems with this Monitor.. It's about 3 years old Thanks

The flickering is caused by parts called capacitors in the power supply failing. These parts help filter the power supply and when they start to fail they allow voltage fluctuations to pass through and this causes the flickering. If you can solder then you should be able to do the repair yourself. We have several guide posted on our web site at: look in the monitor repair section. Open your monitor and replace all of the capacitors that have bulging tops and you should be bak going again. If you have any questions contact us through our web site.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

My L1718S monitor go`s on and off all the time

The monitor switching off can be due to various reasons. I am ennumerating them..check each point carefully.

1. check the vga cable and power cable going to the monitor. they may be loosely connected. make sure the cables are firmly into the port at both ends.

2. there maybe power saving mode active... computer going into standby/suspend mode. check the power settings. right click desktop > properties> screensaver  tab... click power button.

3. If not using a UPS try checking the power supply for voltage fluctuations and spikes

Hope this will resolve your issue otherwise post back.

if this helps you please vote for me. thanks for using fixya

X box not turning on

Sadly, the original Xbox power supplies are rather weak against overloading. I personally know of 3 systems which died due to power issues. I really wouldn't suggest repairing it unless you have someone who really knows what they are doing.
