Can it be cross-referenced with Fram or any parts store filters?

  • judy1234169 Apr 26, 2010

    I need an oil filter.

  • judy1234169 Apr 26, 2010

The answer was about an air filter, not an oil filter.

What oil and oil filter do I use for my riding lawnmower.

30 weight oil is fine. as for the filter..I would suggest that you bring it to a shop and match it up, or go on line to manufacture.

I have a honda 3813 riding mower. When i try to start it,it backfires a litttle but will not run.?

Backfire usually means that it is out of time. This sometimes happens when something is hit causing the flywheel to jerk shearing the flywheel key. Remove flywheel and replace woodriff or slot key.

Troy built mower honda 160 engine oil leak around governer shaft. no oil seal but shows one on parts breakdown. Can not find part number for shown seal.

Drain oil from mower until proper level. Remove spark plug and pull starter rope several times to blow out cylinder. Spray starter fluid in cylinder pull rope several times to clean out. Replace fouled plug with new spark plug. Remove air cleaner, ensure no oil present, replace filter as needed. Clean air filter box with carb cleaner. Install new air filter reattach filter cover. Prime engine, pull starter rope 1/2 way 4 times to help prime, then pull starter rope fully up to 10 times to start.

Does the Honda 3813 take a positive or negative ground?

Most all garden tractors here are negative ground. I have seen only a few things positive ground, and that was an old land rover and old jaguar, Both british made. I couldn't find any reference to it being different. Hope this helps.

Oil coming out of the carburetor of my Honda Harmony 215 mower

unless the ground was a steep slope while mowing or the mower was tipped over 35 degrees or more in any direction except with the handle bars down (spark plug up is ok), it will most likley be a blown head gasket between the pushrod gallery and cylinder. remove the head and get it re-faced then assembly with new gasket. valve adjustments are 4 thou inlet and 6 thou exhaust

Need to change the motor oil in my lawn mower, **** Super Z with Honda 24 hp motor. How many quarts of oil does this require?

You should have a GXV670 Honda on that beast. If so, then 2.5 quarts with a filter change.Good luck.

I am looking for sevice bulletins for honda 3813 lawn tractor

I had a similar problem with my Honda 3813. When I tore it down, I found that the 3813 has a slow delay cyclinder - something like a shock absorber - the slowly puts pressure on the clutch plate after you let up on the clutch pedal. In my case, the clutch is old and worn, this is exactly the symptom I experienced because the clutch was nearly worn out - it took like 10 or more seconds to get going. A new drive clutch and a little adjustment fixed this problem for me. To replace the clutch without removing the engine I had to cut the cross brace plate on the bottom of the tractor.

To get to this you need to remove all the tin that is under the seat part of the tractor - a real nuisance.

Also, it took me 3 months to get the clutch from the Honda dealer. .... definitely not helpful! Good thing I had a John Deere as a backup, I've never had trouble getting parts quickly for that.
