Question about Emerson LC320EM8 32 in. LCD TV

1 Answer

I have a new Emerson LC320EMX 32" TV. The suddenly stopped working right. It will not turn off. There is no picture, only colored screens. When you change the channel it just shows a different color screen. The power button and setup button do not work.

Similar to mine, only my tv you can change channels. We either need someones help or atleast a service manual (not user manual)

Found the solution (believe it or not, fanai corp wanting me to send it to get it fixed), here is what I done, go buy a universal remote, I bought an RCA one (model:RCU600DSN), programmed it to a my moms sylvania tv/dvd combo which ironically used the same code as mine, anyway once programmed start pressing each button until you see the main screen again, it should say "press power to exit", now press power.. I dont know the exact code, because the ones in the manual didn't work.

Your TV is still in the factory test mode. To remove from the tech service mode try this.To exit the service mode, grab the original remote. Press the cursor left followed by the cursor right button. Now press the off button on the remote or on the TV itself. Hope this helps. Thanks for asking and show a few hands of support!

EMERSON LC320EMX WHEN TURN ON GREEN LIGHT FLASHES THEN GOES TO RED

Sounds like capacitor/s failing on the power board. This is a common issue and there is lots of literature and even videos on how to perform the repair on web. A shop will charge upwards of $200 for this repair yet if you find the components and only have them change those; perhaps they will work with you on cost. GL!

Screen white

If the problem is same with different input devices and you have ensured there are no loose contacts in power outlet, RC jack, cable and sockets, the TV needs servicing.

I fell asleep on my Emerson LC320EMX 32 hdtv remote; when I awoke, the tv was flashing ONLY colors (red, black,blue,white)...Now, How do I get it out of that mode....I was told its stuck in set-mode ?

I had this problem with the LC320EMX, after extensive searching on the internet, I found a solution. The TV has entered some kind of test pattern, to escape from the flashing color test pattern do the following:
While the screen is changing from red, green,Blue,White, & Black, and is Unresposive, Take your factory remote, Press the up arrow, then the down arrow, then (ON THE TV) press the power button. Turn the set back on and it should be functioning properly. (BTW: the set gets into this test pattern if you press too many buttons on the remote, or if you use a universal remote with the wrong code)
