Question about Garmin Forerunner 101 GPS Receiver

1 Answer

The unit will not show distance in miles even when in bike mode. Main screen shows distance in feet even in bike mode. When I go back to check which mode the unit is in it says bike mode. As I have done this at least a dozen times. Lots of resets, battery removal the manual must be missing a step. Thank you.

Not sure about this but from the little bit that i read, it is not designed for that, seems to be a training tool of some sort. You might have already done this but here is the link that i followed. Maybe something in there or the pdf file will help you out, but i actually have not much of an idea on this one. So here you go

Hope this helps

Does distance show kilometers or miles?

On a digital display the default in U.S. is miles. Refer to your owner's manual or call dealer if you need to change it. A km is .6 of a mile, so just drive about 10 blocks (around a mile). If the odometer registers around 1 unit more it's probably miles, if it says close to 2 then it's probably km.

My dell d630 won't recognize the infocus lp70+ remote control and I can't advance my power point slides?

Here's what the User's Manual says:

Using the Remote Control

To advance PowerPoint slides with the projector's remote, you

must connect the USB cable on the projector's computer cable to

the computer. See page 8 for more information.

Point the remote control at the projection screen or at the front or

rear of the projector (not at the computer). The range for optimum

operation is about 30 feet. If you point the remote at the

projection screen, the distance to the screen and back to the projector

must be less than or equal to 30 feet. For best results, point

the remote directly at the projector.

If you are displaying presentations in Microsoft® PowerPoint®,

you can use the remote's Previous and Next buttons to navigate

through your presentation while in Slide Show mode.

The distance for the trip in my favorite is wrong.

Sounds like you might have "off road" selected for your navigation preference. Shortest distance between 2 points is a straight line, or great circle for GPS units. As the crow flies will be shorter than a road route.

My garmin nuvi 780 shows me at an address a good half mile down road from my house. Also, the lat and longitude it shows me at while i'm home is 15 miles from where i am. whats wrong here and how do we fix...

The accuracy of any GPS device depends upon having good locks on multiple GPS satellites (at least 4, but up to 12 on many units).

The main screen on the nuvi shows the acquisition quality in bars (like a cell phone), but provides no further information. If you have 5 bars, your accuracy should be much better than what you report. Ideally, it should be as good as 4 meters (13 feet), though that will vary depending upon the current configuration of GPS satellites overhead.

An error of 15 miles should never occur. How confident are you of your actual latitude/longitude?
