Question about HP Photosmart 2575 All-In-One Printer, Scanner, Copier

Scanner I have an HP Photosmart 2575 All- in-one and cannot scan. I took it to a computer expert who re-installed it for me and had it scanning but won't scan at all for me. it comes up on the small screen: No scan options. Refer to device ducumentation to troubleshoot. Press ok to continue. I have checked the connections and they seem to be ok. I really need your help a.s.a.p. Thankyou.

    Hi, my problem is HP Photosmart 2575 all in one will not scan, message , please help.

    chaon small screen- troubleshoot problem in documentation.When Itry to scan through HP Solution Centre message reads- (An error occurred commmunicating with the device. Please ensure that the scanning device is connected properly and try again.) .Tried scanning using the wizard, and it works, also prints ok. I also ran Diagnostic test, found 2 problems, which have been fixed, followed all instructions given from HP. PROBLEM still theresat54

    cannot scan . my printer caused mr problems when i changed my computer from windows to windows vista. contacted hp who download an

    updated program . since then i have no scan option.

Ok..

check usb connections first

restart scanner

remove old s/w

go here for new drivers for that HP

1) Make sure that you have the HP driver and full-software installed. Go to http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&dlc=&cc=us&product=441240& , select your OS and click Next. Then click on Driver to download it. If you installed the generic driver from the OS, uninstall it and unplug the data cable (if USB) before installing. For some of OS versions, even if you do have the full software, check the version you have, some need to be patched. 2) Place the document to scan face down on the glass or face up in a Automatic Document Feeder (ADF).

Next you can scan from the computer before you can scan using the buttons on the printer. If you want to use the scan buttons, you will need the full software installed and the monitor program running. Then you need to set the button destinations in the HP Solution Center before the buttons will work. Launch the HP software (Start > All Programs > HP > HP Solution Center (some HP printers have a slightly different program but it will be in the same HP folder). Launch the scan and set the resolution and destination folders. Windows computers can also scan from the computer with Paint (File > Import from Scanner or Camera) or Windows Fax and Scan (Vista and Win7).

If you have problems, check the USB cable first. Scanners require bi-directional communication with the computer. Thus they fail when the printer works. Make sure that the scanner is unlocked if a lock exists.

if it is XP, then click on start , then run , in run type wiaacmgr.exe and hit enter, try to scan.

In vista and windows 7 , replace run with start search box.

HP Scanner will not scan??


Sounds like a driver problem.

I would uninstall the drivers and reinstall them. Be sure to keep the scanner disconnected from the computer until the software prompts you to plug it in.

Afterwards I would go to the HP site and download the updated drivers.

Are able to print? If yes, please tryy to scan by using Ms Paint. If you can scan from Ms Paint please reinstall the scanning driver software. You can download the full feature drivers and softwares from www.hp.com.

uninstall printer software and then reinstall from cd that came with it if you have it if not you can download from hp solution center.

Scanning


My Photosmart 2575 v has worked fine as well for over a year and now it won't scan. I get the same message: "Refer to device documentation to troubleshoot". I ran all updates and they said I have them all and everything is working perfectly. It's not though. I still can't scan. I tried their work-around by opening paint and then acquring image from the scanner but that does not work either.

The most common causes of this issue are 1: you do not have the software installed on your computer (or you need an updated version form the HP web-site) and/or 2: you are connecting to the printer over a network and your firewall is stopping the printer from accessing the HP software on your computer. A little more info would be helpful in diagnosing the problem; What Operating System is your computer running? Is your computer connected to the printer via USB or over a network? Do you have the latest HP software installed? Do you have more than one printer, scanner or all in one device connected to your computer? Has the printer always had this problem or has it worked before?
