Make sure the foot valve in the well is good and the ejecter is cause I have replaced some with a pin hole in them or a rock get in foot valve and not let it hold pressure right.

Pressure Switch the big screw should be the only one you turn to adjust pressure increase or decrease if you moved the small on eyou can look at your old one to get an Idea of where it was set or get you close.

Can a 3/4 horsepower jet pump be operated at a 40/60 psi configuration?

Yes. First raise your tank pressure to 38 psi, then raise your cut-in pressure on the press switch to 40 psi. Don't forget to adjust the cut-off up to 60 psi. There is a schrader valve(tire valve) on the top of your tank where you can fill it and measure the press with a tire gauge. CHANGE TANK PRESS FIRST.

Mastercraft 3/4hp shallow well jet pump keeps cycling on and off for about 3 seconds at a time until up to pressure. How do I adjust? Also, pressure gauge not working. Could this be the problem

The gauge is there to help troubleshoot problems. It does not regulate anything. It sounds like your press tank is bad. Take a tire press gauge and test the tank pressure at the schrader at the top of tank. If there is no pressure, you need a new tank.

If you do change the tank, I suggest you change the press switch and the gauge as well.

I adjusted both large and small springs on my pump switch trying to obtain cut out at 60 psig and cut in at 40 psig. Apparently, I have a pressure differential of 30 psig. It cuts in at 30 and cuts out at...

The large spring is for the cut in and cut off pressure, the smaller spring is for the differential in pressure, meaning it adjusts the lbs of pressure between cut in and cut off. Since you have adjusted the smaller spring you have a 30 psi differential instead of 20. To adjust turn the small spring counter clockwise 1 full turn or 360 degrees, then recheck the pressure differential (do not adjust the taller spring while doing this) You may have to repeat this two or three times. Once you have a 20 lb differential, then you can adjust the taller spring to get your cut in, cut out pressure. It works the same way. Clockwise for a higher pressure and counter clockwise for lower pressure. It's something you'll have to play with. It doesn't have to be exact, as long as it's close. Sometimes they are hard to get readjusted.

My jet pump has a 20 - 40 pressure switch but won't give any more than 30 psi. Whats wrong?

There are several causes for this to occur.
1. If it is a 20-40 switch right out of the box it may not be set correctly. I have had this happen. If it builds to 30psi and shuts right off without straining to build to 40psi adjust the Cut-Out pressure up to 40psi. There are two different adjustments on a well switch. One for Cut In / Cut Out psi and one for Cut Out psi.
2. Lack of head pressure being built by the pump can be the cause. This can be attributed to the wrong Jetting in the pump. IE: A shallow well jet/venturi on a deep well.
3. The pump may have a bad impeller, but the pump will generally really strain to build pressure and a bad impeller will be loud, like grinding at times.
4. Double check the pre-set pressure in bladder tank also.

1/3 hp shallow well jet pump (mastercraft brand). After power outage i have been having problems with pump. It will run continuously without building up enough pressure to cut out. It wil build up to about...

I don't think the power shortage had anything to do with the pump, I think it is the impeller or a gasket, or both. It is hard to say, a pump like that should **** dry and pull water right in.If you put your hand over the end of the pipe, it should make a mark like an octopus on your hand. I would take off the impeller, look for trouble, and replace 3 or 4 parts in there , you should have water. Hope this helps.

My pump builds pressure to 60 psi but will not go any hire for the shut off what can be the problem

most jet pumps have a pressure switch to regulate cut in/ cut off pressure. Normally 40/60 psi. The pressure switch should be located at the rear of the pump where the wiring enters. First disconnect the power supply to the pump. Remove the cap where the wiring enters. On the inside of the cap there should be a diagram showing how to alter the cut in/ cut off pressure.

Pump cycles like crazy!!

Sometimes a new tank the blatter will be kinda sealed to the sides of the tank.the amount of air in the tank s/b equal to the cut in pressure of the pressure switch.(40 lb) that would be (60 lb) cut out if you messed with the little screw on the pressure switch you have a problem.there must be the 20 psi of differance between start and stop.

Pump will not come up to pressure and turn off!

With no leaks in line and assuming the jet is not embedded in debris at bottom of well, try priming the pump again and getting all the air out.
