Question about HP Computers & Internet
Purchased from PC world cost of £699,exactly 13 months later, I was using it and after returning from making myself a drink, was suprised to see the computer was off,I did think that the electric must have gone but it hadn't, I then tried to restart my laptop but nothing was happening, I tried a few more times but after a few flashing blue lights flickering on then off , nothing happens at all now . as not under warranty had an estimate and diagnosis to fault and was told there was some burnt/ overheated components in the laptop,an estimated cost to repair the laptop was £300/'£350. About 2 months later I received a recall letter from HP warning of faulty batteries that could cause a fire hazard whilst in use, it was admitted that this could have resulted in my laptop being damaged, I was asked in the letter to return the battery and that it would be replaced free of charge.
Having been in touch with HP they are not even willing to meet the cost halfway, so unless someone can identify which parts I will need and where I might be able to get them at a reasonable price then I cannot see it being cost effective to repair, as they have come down so much in price, would really appreciate the help at identifying the damaged components and there location otherwise I will have to start saving again for another laptop, which might I say is going to take me at least 6 months, so am waiting in anticipation for a miracle I know !!!!!!!
It is hp's responcibility and you are probrably entitled to repair with all your documentation, but your problem is you are dealing with people who are reading a script. need to keep trying to reach someone with the authority to do something. try calling coporate hq and ask for customer service or get a lawyer who is willing to bully them a little and he will make his money on thier end.
