Hp officejet 7310 black cartridge error message

Remove and check cartridge on right and insert cartridge on right appear on display screen. black cartridge has been removed and contacts cleaned. new cartridges have been tried with same messages appearing.

If the contacts were pierced by the spring clip, you may be able to do one of three things:

!) if you are under warranty (and maybe even if not since there were extensions due to this issue - see fixyourownprinter.com and "x-bias spring"), get a new printer from HP

2)get a new carriage assembly from a used printer with the same carriage - several models including the photosmart amd desk jets use this same carriage and can be purchased second-hand for 25 bucks or less (better than getting one new which may cost as much as $150 for no good reason

3)attempt to repair the torn traces with tape and a "circuit writer" pen (Radio Shack @ 7-13 bucks). Soldering will only melt the mylar, so I recommend sanding off the plastic from the copper trace a bit and then using the pen connect the break in the circuitry and cover with a piece of scotch tape to isolate the circuit paths if more than one is torn through. Don't forget to epoxy the spring back in place - and do the other side too so that you don't have the same problem with the other cartridge later.

The clip on the side came out i put it back and i saw puncture in that pins plate in the printer maybe is a scratch when that spring clip come out itry turn on and off and put back the black cartridge but i receve same message to remove and check black cartridge?

Each cartridge having printing life, as long as cartridge health condition is good it won't gives any trouble. Subjected series printer having mono & colour cartridges,1. Remove both cartridge from the printer 2. Switch on & wait till message appears for insert the cartridges..3. Insert mono(Black) cartridge, close the door & wait till message appears on screen. Hi,

Your printer is in Error mode.. Specially with black ink empty message. HP Printer is designed in such manner that it will not allow you do to anything if it gives cartridge error message on printer screen.

you will have to replace the cartridge and align the printer to get it working.

Remove and check cartridge on right. I have removed it several times but still comes up with message and will not work


All I did was replace my black ink cartridge with a new one and it works. You think it would say replace ink cartridge instead of remove and check cartridge on right. Good Luck.

I have a HP Office jet 7310 all-in-one. Printing stopped and an error message that says remove and check cartridge on right. I did, but the error message won't go away. What can I do?


Cold reboot. Disconnect all wires and cables after shutting down as much as possible, leave disconnected from power and computer for 3 minutes then follow OEM instructions for hook-up and restart

Can you find a friend with a similar HP printer, i.e., one that accepts the same model-number of ink-cartridge? If the cartridge gives the same error-message in the other printer, it's time to responsibly recycle your "dead" cartridge, and give the brand-new cartridge to your friend, for his/her usage.

use a eraser on pencil and rub the contacts on both the cartridge and the machine try again i assume you are using new cartridges by hp

Hi i hace HP Photosmart C4188 All-in-One Printer and since last few days i am facing a problem "Remove and check crtridge on right"


the right side cartridge is gone faulty and needs replacement so this error message.just follow the message and replace the cartridge.also try cleaning the cartridge before replacing them sometimes the cleaning helps.

The following error message appears on the color graphics display after you insert a cartridge: Remove and Check Print Cartridges . The printer will not print. The message does not specify which cartridge has caused the error. Solution This error message indicates that the printer cannot determine which cartridge is causing the error. Follow the steps below to solve the problem.
  1. Remove the color cartridge from the left stall (which has a blue latch) and refasten the latch. Leave the other cartridge in place.
  2. Close the printer, wait 10 to 15 seconds, then look at the LCD display.
    • If the LCD display reads Insert Color Cartridge in Left Stall , the color cartridge may be causing the problem. Follow the steps below:
      1. Clean the color cartridge contacts.
      2. Reinsert the color cartridge into the carriage and close the blue latch.
      3. Close the printer and wait 10 to 15 seconds.
      4. If the LCD display reads Remove and Check Print Cartridges , replace the color cartridge.
    OR
    • If the LCD display reads Remove and Check Print Cartridges , follow the steps below:
      1. Reinsert the color cartridge.
      2. Remove the black or photo cartridge, depending on which one is installed in the right stall. The right stall has the gray latch. Be sure to refasten the latch on the empty stall.
      3. Clean the black or photo cartridge contacts.
      4. Reinsert the black or photo cartridge.
      5. Close the printer and wait 10 to 15 seconds.
      6. If the LCD display reads Remove and Check Print Cartridges , replace the black or photo cartridge.

  1. Remove and then reinsert the cartridge indicated in the error message.
  2. If the error is still displayed, clean the contacts.
    1. If the error message is Error. Remove and Check Black or Photo Cartridge , the following steps may help:
    1. Remove both cartridges, lower the latches, and close the printer access door.
    2. Turn off the unit by pressing the On button on the front panel. Wait for the printer to completely shut down.
    3. Turn the printer back on by pressing the On button.
    4. When the message display reads Insert Print Cartridges , open the access door and replace the cartridges.
    1. If neither of the steps above fixed the problem, either the cartridge or the printer is faulty
