  1. You either have a dead video card, a bad video card slot, or a bad cable connection, or a faulty monitor.
  2. 1. plug in the monitor with the same cable to another pc to see if it works.
  3. Plug in the video card into another pc to see if it works.
  4. Plug in another video card into the video slot on your motherboard to see if it works.
Good luck

I have a HP a6300f computer. It won't boot. Once I turn it on, it beeps for 17 seconds, is silent for 10 seconds, and follows by another beep for 17 seconds. I'm not sure what the problem is.

The duration and time of the beep codes is going to tell you what the problem is..

Here is the hp page that has the beep code information.
HP Beep Codes

The specific beep code info is towards the bottom.

Hope this helps

Powers up but monitor detects no signal

check the graphics card is working by plugging in another card known to be good
check on another monitor to see if you get a signal
check if the cpu heatsink is getting warm and the fan is spinning.

If all check out, remove ram modules and try to reboot, if you get any beeps other than one beep, the fault lies in the ram modules
If you get no beeps, I'd say that the motherboard is dead

deff. i could bet 99.9999 percent you got a saver virus that did this . there is a easy fix. when u turn the power on do u see the beginning of boot up were it says f12 for setup. if so u would be able to click on boot options and reinstall windows with a windows cd (xp,vista or seven) if this does nto allow you a good way to check if its the mother board or not. if u take the memory out of your motherboard and start computer you should here 6 beeps. if you do not here 6 beeps this tells us its the mother board

Whene my hp a6300f pc is turned on only a black screen is seen

You should see first the RAM modules. eject one and try to start the pc without that. If starts you have to replace that module. If dont, try with the other one. do the same with HDD and each Motherboard periferic (DVD, Card reader etc.)

Good luck!

My HP Pavilion a6300f powers up but no signal to the monitor

It could be the motherboard, try resetting the the bios first by either taking the lithium cmos battery out and then replacing after 30 secs or finding the the cmos jumber and unshort it for 30 secs, and reboot the mechine.

If the same and no monitor responce then the onboard graphic electronics may have failed, the motherboard does have a AGP expansion slot which you may want to test with a graphics card to see if that will work.

If you find that you do have to replace the motherboard, try to find one that uses the same processor and memory that you already have, that way you will keep expence down to a minimal.

Replacing the motherboard will mean you will have to contact microsoft to give you the installation codes for the operating system to work with the new motherboard, when you boot for the first time with the new motherboard fitted you will have to phone the number on the screen to reregister the system just follow the instructions, it is quite self explanetry.

Once all booted up and drivers installed the computer should run as normal, as for the hp recovery disks it should still work as all the information on the disk is on the harddrive any way, the only thing you would need to do is keep the motherboard installation disk with all the drivers on.
hope this helps.

I can't get video on my monitor on a A6300F system I try my monitor on a different computer and it works. I believe is the card. But it is in the mainboard. can I install a video card and that would solve...

Hello, fduque2001.

The usual first-hand cause of a monitor not having any form of visual could be bam memory RAM sticks inside the DIMM memory outputs inside on your motherboard, or as you said.. It could possibly be the motherboard itself, what I'd recommend you to do is just switch out the RAM in the computer with help from a someone you know and trust can help you with the best answers.

Also, make sure that the pins on the A6300F for the video adapter are not bent or broken. There are 15-16 pins on it, be sure that all are there and are not bent out of place.

Hope it helps.

Cpu says no input vga signal, then goes to sleep

The no input VGA signal just means that the monitor is not receiving anything from the graphic card on the tower. Is the card a digital (DVI) output card? You'll know by the connector, it's white and slightly wider than a standard VGA connector. If so, perhaps the monitor is set to the wrong input?

If that isn't the case, and the computer is using an on-board or built-in graphics controller, you could try resetting the system's CMOS settings by setting the clear-settings jumper on the system board, or simply remove the plug and CMOS battery for a few minutes. Check the computer's documentation on the exact steps to do this.

Hope this helps!
