By generator, I think you mean, the magnetron that heats the food, correct? Either the magnetron has fried or some part of the circuitry to it has fried. If the magnetron has fried, then you are better off getting a new microwave as the magnetron costs almost as much as a new one. Working on a microwave can be dangerous, so if you want to see if something else is fried, find someone with electronic expertise to test the components to the magnetron.

Let me know how this works out for you.

Power is on and all seems to be functioning except just today it does not seems to generate any heat. Any item placed in the microwave remains cold.

The most likely problem is the magnetron, also the high voltage capacitor and diode can be a factor. If the magnetron proves to be the issue you are further ahead replacing the microwave oven.

Everything on oven appears to work, but does not heat.

from what your describing it sounds as if you have burnt the antenna off of the end of the magtube if this is the case if your microwave is no longer under warranty due to the cost of the part you may be better off to purchase a new microwave.

Microwave inoperative on rv generator power

Replaced with different microwave. Amanna microwave works fine on both circuits. Would not recommend Whirlpool for RV use.

Thanks

Whirlpool GH6177XPS G2 Microwave

Your generator may be putting out a square wave instead of a true sinusoidal (sine) wave.

There is usually a circuit in the microwave which monitors the AC line for timing purposes, and a square wave may not be interpreted correctly.

I would consult the manual or contact the manufacturer or installer.
