The dishwasher keeps trying to empty and then stops with the light flashing. No matter what position you put the dial, it stops and flashes. When you hold your finger on the button, it just tries to empty again.

Blinking auto lock Whirlpool

What does it say in fine print right under control lock? "Press & Hold"? Page 16 of the user manual shows it as "air dry" with two lights, twelve and three o'clock positions. It says hold it for four seconds and the light turns off.

Whirlpool ADP8540 IX dishwasher - dishwasher starts then stop shortly afterward Error light flashing 4 times. I can restart by holding the start button but shuts down again shortly afterwards - Any Ideas??

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors or feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/PUMP MOTOR/DRAIN to work when it is commanded .If this does not happen then the voltage at these points must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage/drive from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

If the water flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor. The water pressure must be good and the spraying must be seen to be good. If there is low pumping or pressure then the spray arms will not turn around to inject with pressure. If so the pump must be checked for clogging.

Need to check the inlet valve, the pressure pump as it seems to trip the controller unit.

Finally after the wash the drain valve will be activated, the water is allowed to come in to rinse and then finally the drain valve/pump activated so as to drain off all the water.

Make sure that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the valve or motor or pump.

Hello, I have a model GU3200XTP Dishwasher. The problem that I am having is the Sani Rinse light is always flashing and the unit does not work. Any Suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

The sanitize rinse light flashing means that your touch pad is shorted and will need to be replaced.

Good luck

I have a quite partner 2 and it is stuck on the clean cycle and the light is blinking on and off. It will not work when I push any other buttons.

whirlpool dishwashers sense the water temperature in them the clean light flashing 7 times means either the heater element is not working or the water temperature going into the unit is to cold, start the water at the sink before starting the dishwasher now to get rid of the flashing light press the hi temp wash button and then the sani rinse button press one then the other over and over until all the lights come on it will then go in to a test mode when it completes the flashing light will go out that will solve your problem

Won't start

QuietGuard3: Clean light flashing 7 times? Press Heated Dry, press Normal Wash, then press Heated Dry again and press Normal Wash again (that's 4 button-presses) and that should fix it.
