Inspect the power supply first.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Monitor won't turn on after a few hours of being shut off

If it EVER works, then the problem is not a failed part, but a weak part. The most likely component type to give you such problems are capacitors. But very few repair techs know how to find such problems, and even fewer have the equipment needed to find the bad one(s) in-circuit. The failure mode is high ESR (ESR means Equivalent Series Resistance). The lower the ESR, the better. Capacitors with high ESR cannot stabilize circuits which demand high pulse currents, such as in switch mode power supplies.

Help me, dish network hd monitor, model 34-310. made in 2004. wont turn on,on button blinks and attempts to,turn on but screen remains blank. tries three times and blinks a green light. no picture,no sound....

It is the right age for failure---IF you are able look inside at the power supply for bad caps---I will attach photos of what to look for.

The three tries is what is called a three strikes and you are out (no joke)----the unit has built into it (many do) a feature where it will try 3 times to make it up and on and if fails shuts down or stops trying.

Vsonic flat screen monitor need blink codes

hi do you mean you are asking for the blinking codes on your viewsonic pc monitor?. usually lcd monitor for pc has no blinking codes, if your monitor just only a blinking indicator and won't turn on, you must check first the source from your pc if their is a signal to turn on the monitor. if just blinking only then won't turn on you must check the power supply of the monitor usually the main cause is bulging capacitor. just replace it with the same value and rating thanks for consulting the fixya good luck.

My dell gx260 ligth come green if i turn it on but for a few mins time it turn orange why

Do you mean the monitor's power light starts green and then turns orange when you turn it on? Most monitors will go to a power saving mode when they do not get a signal from the computer.

The Dell GX260 has a green power light when on. When the computer is off, the light is off. If it is green and blinking, then the computer is in a power saving mode.

Diagnosis: start with the obvious: is the monitor cable plugged into both the computer and the monitor (if not permanently connected to the monitor)? Are you connected to the active port? (You can add a video graphics card in most desktops. The motherboard video port usually needs to be disabled to use the card ports. If you plug in the monitor cable to the disabled port, it won't work.) Is the monitor set to the correct input? (This applies if the monitor has several ports. In that case, there will be a Source or Input button on the monitor.) Is the computer on? The GX260 has the power button on the front. (Other computers have the power button on the top.) There is also the power supply switch on the back which needs to be on.

Next try a different data cable between the monitor and the computer (if you can). Try a different monitor. If a second monitor works, than the monitor has a damaged main board. If the second monitor doesn't work, then the video graphics adapter has probably failed. Replace the add-on card, if in use, then boot in the safe mode to remove the old graphics driver. Then install the correct driver for the graphics adapter.

Note: the computer and the monitor should both be off when you connect the cables. Then turn on the monitor first and set it to the correct source before turning on the computer.)

I hope this helps.

Check the connections at the monitor and also where it plugs in to the back of the pc. I have a feeling one of those has come loose.

I have a dell dimension 4600 computer. I usually put the computer in sleep mode when I am not using it. Usually I press the ESC button and the computer wakes up. All of a sudden, the monitor won't...

Plug the monitor into another computer to determine if the monitor is damaged or working properly. You can also plug another monitor into your computer to determine the same thing.

When i turn on my pc, the cpu works perfectly while the monitor "syncmaster591s"....when i turn on the monitor the light (green) beside the button of the monitor is blinking

Try a different monitor...if the different one won't come up then the prob is your video card in the computer...if it does work then the monitor is defective...it would probably be cheaper to get a new monitor than to have the syncmaster fixed

Power will not come on, power button blinks

Once the monitor is not turning ON and the power button is blinking, this is an indication that the monitor is not getting an analog or digital signal from the computer.

Try to turn off and turn the computer back on, if same problem occur, try to connect the monitor into a known working CPU. If it works, then the problem has something to do with the computer. You may need to remove the video or graphics card from the computer, remove the dust using a clean cloth, and re-seat the video card into the slot.

Or you may try to connect a known working monitor into your computer.

Thank you and good luck!
