My computer wasn't recognizing that a device was connected, so I looked up the possible solutions to the problem. None of them worked so before you try anything super complicated, just try using a different cord.

You may have too much music on your laptop so it won't sync with the mp3 player but you could try and copy and paste music from your music source to the mp3 player.
