Question about HP VGA Webcam

1 Answer

I've tried to uninstall the webcam and then reinstall it using the cd that came with it. but when I put the cd in it won't immediately begin to install. so I got on hp and downloaded the software along with the driver software. and now the green light on the webcam is on and doesn't go off, but it still won't display a picture on anything. also, my computer has windows vista home premium if that makes any difference in this problem.

you might need more software or updates.
Some webcams and programs require additional software, although that should be installed with the webcam if things are right.
But is does not harm to check if your Java, Flash and Quicktime software are installed and up to date.
But certainly check your DirectX software, since all video applications, including webcams, use DirectX for video processing.
Try downloading the latest DirectX version and install it (Windows XP: DirectX 9.0c Windows Vista: DirectX 10).

Go to the ACER website and download the Device Driver for the WebCam and install it.

Do the following:

1. Navigate to http://www.acer.com.au.
2. Click the Service & Support link at the top/left of the screen.
3. Click Driver Download
4. Select Notebook from the Product Family list.
5. Select Aspire from the Product Line list.
6. Select Aspire 6920 from the Product Model list. (scroll through the list to locate).
7. Select the ARROW next to the word Camera from the Driver list that appears.

This will automatically begin to download. Follow any other on screen instructions when it begins to install.

I hope this helps. Regards,

When i turn my webcam it doesn't work.

The first step to try is to uninstall and reinstall the hardware. Right-click on your My Computer icon, then select Manage. Highlight Device Manager on the list, then find your webcam in the list of hardware. Right click on the webcam in your list, then select Uninstall. Once completely uninstalled, reboot your PC. After your PC is back up, reinstall the hardware. Make sure you use the driver CD that came with the webcam. Hope this helps!!
