Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

I have a Samsung HLM507W DLP TV. A few weeks ago when I would power on the TV, it would then shut off and then a couple of seconds later power itself back on. This past week however when I power on the TV, it would then power off, then on, then off, then on again. Once it finaly come on it's ok, but I have a feeling something is begining to go on me. Any ideas? Thanks, Jeff

Can anyone point me in the right direction?I have had my samsung DLP (model SP50L6HD) for 4 years. This morning my children were watching TV and the tv started turning itself on and off. I switched it...

It could be the temp sensor going bad. This sensor sits on top of the metal housing which the bulb assembly slides into. The bulb assembly will have a hole on top and this is where the sensor is above. There is a small blue and white wire that plugs into it. If you pull the wire out and put a paper clip or wire in the coupling you will basically bypass the sensor connecting the blue and white wire. If your tv turns on then that is your problem. Its cheap too. Here were my symptoms..1] Turn tv on 2] Bulb would light up..(which eliminates the ballast) regular picture would show up (which eliminates the bulb and color wheel) 3] 30 seconds later tv would shut down with 3 flashing lights. After bypass the tv turned on as always and hasnt shut down yet. Always un plug tv first. Get the replacement part to avoid overheating and possible fire

TV shuts off after 30 seconds.

Check chassis venting, sounds like thermal switch is tripping on top of light box.

TV shuts itself off after a couple minutes of being on.

One must be very careful of the quality of the replacement lamp. Many of the cheap 'deals' on the web for replacement lamps are substandard. I always recommend that replacement bulbs be the original manufacturers bulb.

52 HD Samsung tv turns off

I have the same problem with my 56" HD Samsung. It shuts off automatically and then on the power button the word Lamp is light up in green. Sometimes I can turn it back on but other times it won't and I have to wait a bit. It's been embarassing a couple times when people were over for a movie. I believe it might be some kind of overheating problem but would like someone to confirm this.
