This same error started occurring on my printer and eventually it would constantly power on and off. Apparently some defective components were used in the construction of the logic board (see photo). On my C6180 there were 3 failed capacitors (the green cylinders - the puffed top indicates failure) and a 4th from the same manufacturer (TEAPO - many unfavorable web references to this manufacturer). I purchased 3x 330uF 16V and 1x 680uF 10v rated to 105 degrees Celsius (total about 60cents). On the logic board, the capacitors I replaced are labeled C613, C614, C660 and C662. If you are not comfortable replacing the parts yourself (or don't have a soldering tool), you will have to find someone who will. The time to repair should be less than 30 min - I did it in 25 min with only a solder pen. This also fixed the ink system failures the printer was having. A similar fix may apply to other printers

This info has been so helpful along with this group of pictures:http://picasaweb.google.com/109215435720... The pictures show how to get to the logic board. Thank you for helping me fix my printer instead of turning it into a boat anchor!

Hp's cartridges are now date coded for expiration. If you had old cartridges refilled, or bought someone's catrs that have, or are using compatibles that could be the source of your problem. Try a set of new, off-the-shelf genuine hp carts.

This error message comes when the ink system fails to work properly
Please follow the following steps to resolve the concern

2. Press the red eye removal, print photos and red eye removal in sequence
3. The printer will show support menu
4. Press the right arrow key twice to go to the reset menu
5. Use the right arrow key to go to the semiful reset
6. Toucj=h the semiful reset and it would restore everything to the factory settings
That might work for you
All the best!!

My HP 6180 has very squeaky feed wheels. Is there

At the back of the printer is a door. Open door and put some very thin oil(firearm or sewing machine oil works well) either sides of the shaft that the black rollers are on.

Good luck

6180 rebooting

Turn off the machine using the power button, unplug the power cord from the back of the machine, remove the ink cartridges, wait 2 min, press the power button to turn the machine on, wait until the printer prompts that the ink cartridges are missing, then replace the ink. If this doesn't fix it you may need to re-prime the ink lines using the directions at this web page http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/hp-photosmart-ink-system-failure-1/.

Hp 02 cartridges problem

hi markyw77 it seems to be a widespresd problem with orginal and non-orginal cartridges. (I have had a lot of printers brought in and have had to be sent back to Hp) .

If you can I would advise sending your printer back to Hp. You can say that you have had refil's in but to avoid arguements I would say that you have only had orginals in.
