Hey!

It seems like the driver (which installs the device under "Printers and Devices") and the software (called "OneTouch" - and used for the actual scanning) come separately for this scanner.

Go here, download and install OneTouch 4 in the language of your preference.

Alternatively, you can always use the scanning wizard that's integrated in Windows...

Best regards,
Pelu.

If you wish to "just" save it in a folder on your computer, have a look at the "Transfer to Storage" section (starting page 28)...

Printing but page comes out blank

To allow for full use of the cartridges, some printers continue to print even after the cartridges are completely out of ink. First, check the ink levels. If the ink level indicators show that a cartridge is low or empty, replace the cartridge.
If not, try to restart the printer. Restarting the printer might clear the issues and allow the printer to function correctly again.Press the power button to turn-off the printer then unplug the power cord from the back of the printer, and the USB cable(if connected). Leave unplug for 30 seconds then reconnect the USB cable and the power cord.
If issue persists, try to reboot your computer. Restarting your computer might resolve the issue. If the printer prints all pages correctly, but it adds blank pages to the printout, check for blank pages in the print preview.
If the preview contains no blank pages, check the printer cables. If the printer connects with a USB cable or an Ethernet cable, a faulty connection might cause the issue.
If the issue persists, check the printer settings on the computer. Issues with the printer settings on the computer might cause the issue. Follow these steps to check the computer: Step one: Check the default paper settings. Make sure that the default paper size matches the width and length of the paper loaded in the tray. If the paper loaded in the tray is different from the paper size setting, the printer might print blank pages. For instance, the issue might occur if legal size paper (215 x 355 mm (8.5 x 14 in)) is in the tray, and the paper size setting is letter (215 x 279 mm (8.5 x 11 in)).Follow these steps to check the default paper settings.Click Start then go to Printers and Faxes .Right-click the icon for your printer (c01532298.gif ), and then click Printing Preferences . Under Printing Preferences window click the Features tab. Compare the settings in the Size drop-down menu with the paper in the tray. If the size of the paper in the tray is not the same as the setting in the Size drop-down menu, change the setting:Click the Size drop-down list, and then select More . The Size is window opens.Select the size of the paper that is in the tray, and then click OK .Click OK in the Printing Preferences window, and then click OK in the Properties window. Step two: Print a test page A test page might help determine if the printer installation caused the problem.Click Start , and then click Control Panel .Right-click the Printers and Faxes folder (c01532297.gif ), and then click Open.Right-click the printer icon (c01532298.gif ).Click Properties .In the General tab, click Print Test Page . The printer prints the Windows XP Printer Test Page.If the Windows XP Printer Test Page prints successfully, you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
If the page is blank, print from an alternate program to determine if the current program is causing the issue.Browse to the location of your saved document, right-click the file, and then click Open With .Select a program other than the program you are currently using to print the document.Open the file in the program, and then check the contents.(Most files open in plain text applications, such as Notepad or WordPad, even if the contents include unusual symbols or text that does not make sense). Try to print the file. If successful, the printer prints exactly what displays in the program window. If the document prints successfully in the alternate program, you do not need to continue troubleshooting. The issue is likely specific to the program you are trying to print from. Consult the program manufacturer for assistance. If the document still prints blank pages in the alternate program, disconnect other devices. Other connected devices, such as scanners, MP3 devices, or other printers might cause conflicts in the communication between the printer and the computer.

HOW DO YOU SCAN

Hello pjbenven!

To use the scan features, your device and computer must be connected and turned
on. The printer software must also be installed and running on your computer prior to
scanning. To verify that the printer software is running on a computer running
Windows, look for the device icon in the system tray at the lower-right side of the
screen, near the clock. To verify this on a computer using the Mac OS, open the HP
Device Manager, and click Scan Picture. If a scanner is available, it will launch the HP
ScanPro application. If it is not available, a message appears to let you know that a
scanner was not found.

To send a scan to a program on a computer from the device control panel (direct
connect)
1.
Load the original on the scanner glass. For more information, see Load originals.
2. Press the left arrow or the right arrow to select the Scan function, and then
press OK.
3. Press right arrow to select the program that you want to use (such as the HP
photo and imaging software), and then press OK.
4. Press Start.

    Hello zdramac

Go to Start Menu > Type msconfig in run box > enter

Under the Services tab, scroll down list and check that print
spooler is has the checkbox checked. If not, place a check inside the box by clicking on it. Scroll further, Look for a heading called imaging
services. Check that it is checked.

Under the Start up tab Scroll down the list until printer program is
found. This is listed differntly depending on the make and manufacture of your printer. Make sure the box next to your printing program is checked. If not, place a check in ther box by clicking on the box.

Click Apply and OK. Restart machine. The system will ask if you want
to restart now, or later. Select now option. What you have done is made sure the printer program is loading upon start and that the print spooler is started. The Spooler is a mess of code that bundels what needs to be printed and sends it to the printer. Do not change any other selection under these tabs because performace and security could be effected.
    After reboot,

Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features (Vista) > Unistall programs (XP) > Click turn windows features on or off in the left window pane.

Allow the application loadtime. Scroll down list and find Print
services, click the plus sign ensure appropiate boxes are selected,
commomly only need Internet Printing Client selected. Unless this is the only printer avalible on a network of computers. Therefore select one of the remaining boxes as needed.

This second step is impotant to check because it is the acual switch to
turn the program(s) on or off. Do not be careless with the choices made
when inside the application because you will diable features and effect
    security and computer performance.

Hpphotosmartc4380 the printing is badly out of line .How do yoy align the cartridges?

    Hello,

You may want to run the alignment program again. Below are the steps as found on page 84 of the manual found here.

To align the print cartridges from the HP Photosmart Software
    1.
In the HP Solution Center, click Settings, point to Print Settings, and then click
    Printer Toolbox.
NOTE: You can also open the Printer Toolbox from the Print Properties dialog
box. In the Print Properties dialog box, click the Services tab, and then click
    Service this device.
    The Printer Toolbox appears.
    2. Click the Device Services tab.
    3. Click Align the Print Cartridges.
The HP All-in-One prints a print cartridge alignment sheet.
    4. When prompted, ensure plain white letter or A4 paper is loaded in the input tray, then
press the button next to OK.
NOTE: If you have colored paper loaded in the input tray when you align the print
cartridges, the alignment will fail. Load unused plain white paper into the input
tray, and then try the alignment again.
The HP All-in-One prints a test page, aligns the print head, and calibrates the printer.
    5. Load the page print side down on the right front corner of the glass, and then press
the button next to OK to scan the page.
When the On button stops flashing, the alignment is complete and the page can be
removed. Recycle or discard the page.

I dont know how to hook up my lexmark X1150 printrio to my Dell Windows Xp

If the lexmark has a usb, use a usb cord to the Dell. If it has a centronics connector (old), U can still get a cord online. If the question is software, then uninstall the printer software using the control panel - add/remove programs, assuming it didn't work and re U R here. Leave the printer connected. Use the control panel - system - hardware - devices and uninstall the printer. Reboot. When the system detects the printer, use the printer cd to load only the driver. Try it and if ok, than U can load the printer programs.
