Question about Intel Motherboard

Display on laptop

In early Dec a constantly running vertical broken line appeared on my display beginning near last digit of the clock display. About 2 mos later another line appeared to the right of that one (very edge of display and as of yeaterday another appeared about two centimeters to the left of the first line. Please tell me what is causing this. No one ie Intel or HP can seem to tell me what the problem is or how to fix it. Can you help? I have updated bios and uninstalled and reinstalled the graphics driver to no avail.

Have you tried plugging in an external monitor to see if the display is ok. I suspect you will find external display is perfect and only the LCD on the laptop is affected.

I have a laptop that the "tab" welds are not connecting properly on the lcd and 1/3 of the display is multiple lines or black. Pressing on the top of the lcd changes the colors on the display but does not fix the problem, I had to replace the lcd.

When I turn on the computer it displays continuous vertical line patterns on the monitor

If monitor is fine, and cables too, then is a problem with VGA. If the VGA you're using is build in MB, then it might be that. Try to use a VGA card or another VGA card.

Hi there, most likely there is a problem with either the GPU of your laptop.
The only other troubleshooting step you can try is to open the laptop up and reseat the connector of the LCD to the motherboard where your GPU is integrated.
You may also want to try an external monitor and if nothing is displayed or the same screen is displayed then the GPU of your laptop is fried and it needs to be replaced.
Hope this helps!

How do i replace the cmos battery on an acer C111TCi tablet ?

keith_rob657 this is a link to a free Service Manual,

http://www.tim.id.au/blog/tims-laptop-service-manuals/#toc-acer

Go down to the bold heading - Travelmate.
Go down to the last line, (Begins with 7730A), and left-click on -
C110

(The Acer TravelMate C111Ci is one of the TravelMate C110 series of Notebook PC's)

This is a PDF file. It may take as long as 30 seconds before the first page will come up.
It may also take additional time for the file to fully download.
(The computer you are on now has Adobe Reader on it, which uses PDF files)

At the top of the PDF file is a page number box. It is to the right of the blue Down Arrow.
This is the page number I will be referring to. Not the actual page number.

Go to Page 69.
RTC Battery Removal.
(The Real Time Clock battery is the CMOS Battery)

Verticla line on the screen of my laptop . lap top is only 9 month old

if its only 9 mnths old you should still have some warranty on your computer screen you could check a few of these things first to try and fix the problem before asking for a warranty claim
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scoll to ports(com&lpt)right click to scan for hardware changes or scroll to monitors + to expand plug and play monitor right click where you have options to update driver, disable.uninstall, scan for hardware changes or select properties where in the general you have the option to troubleshoot also in the driver tab you have the same options as when you first right click on monitor
also
click start control panel, display, desktop you can select a different desktop from the drop down list also settings you can change the settings for more or less pixels or from the drop down list pick the appropriate level of color range or troubleshoot also select advanced then general dpi normal size, larger size or custom settings
always click APPLY after making any changes
hope this helps don

Green line on lcd monitor screen

Unfortunately, a solid line that runs across an LCD screen is due to failure of the display panel, and the only way to repair it is by replacing the display. There is a large amount of electronic driver circuitry built into the display panel, and when something fails it can leave a row or column constantly lit (white or some other color) or constantly dark. There isn't any way to get at that internal circuitry to fix it, so all you can do is replace the entire display.

As soon as Windows xp home began to load....

Hi Obenour,
Two beeps than a short pause than two beeps again repeating means. A memory parity error has occurred in the first 64K of RAM. The RAM IC is probably bad. Best thing to do is download a memory testing bootable software for a floppy disk. This program works out side of windows. It will test you're memory.
http://www.memtest.org/
You'll need display for this. If you have more than one bank of memory installed, remove all but one. Check your manual & see which DIMM slot the memory should be in as a single DIMM. If you only have one DIMM replace it. Test you're monitor on another system or laptop. (Checking it on another system, verify’s its good).
Monitor display good! Than check video card (If you added an 8x AGP card). Remove & reseat the card. Check again for good display. Still no decent display? Windows will not install file correctly with bad memory. You will not receive clear display on your monitor.
