Both phones need to be taken to a mobile service center to have the phone firmware added back on the phones.

In case you still need this, you can unlock your Motorola phone's bootloader following the instructions here:

Make sure your phone can be bootloader unlocked here:

You'll also need to install Motorola's drivers from here:

Hope that gives you a good start...

My phone doesn't work when I turn it on

Your phone has been internally damaged and is 'stuck' in Bootloader Mode.

Unfortunately the only way to resolve this issue will be to take your phone to your service provider.

If possible, take it to one of your service provider's Retail Corporate stores that has on-site tech support and repair. Maybe it can be repaired at the store - but that is not always possible depending on the damage the phone has suffered.

If it's under warranty, (or insured) they can replace it. Otherwise, you may need to purchase a new phone.

Phone only on bootloader

bootloader is the programing mode for when motorola loads the operating system. Typically this will happen when a bad flash code is used. You can try and remove the battery while the phone is turned on and hope it reloads the OS. Otherwise talk to your carrier about warranty stuff.
