Can't delete previous game to start/save a new on in Pokemon Diamond
My son wants to delete the saved version of Pokemon Diamond on his DS-lite so that he can start a new game. We have tried the up/start/B key combo that is in the game manual, but it doesn't seem to work. Anyone have an idea?

Okay you have to go to new game and press A and it would pop up some message that you already have a saved file so at the title screen where you see that pokemon dialga or whatever at that point press Up/start/B and it should say do you wish to delete the previous Pokemon diamond file and Press A to confirm. Hope that helps you

Whats happened is you have started from a new game while an existing save was there. There is no way to save your current progress, however the origional save will still be there. You can either turn it off and start again from the previous save (by selecting the top option at the first menu) or if you want to start right from the begining and be able to save you will need to delete the old save file. I believe the reason for this was that so many kids losts their game that may have taken month (or years) of playing by a friend or sibbling trying to play the game from the start and then save - which would delete the other game save.
yes I too have lost the memory on another game called new super mario. If you didnt save after you used it then the next time you play it, the memory gets deleted. The way to solve this is to keep on trying to put the ds chip back and forth inside the ds. if you wait for a while it gets okay. ( also always put your ds in a safe place or in a case. If you dont then your upper or lower screen will have weird cracks.
i went ahead and tried starting a new game on pokemon diamond so i could try taking the game out during saving. Before i got to do anything,as a pressed the button to start a new game a warning screen came up and told me if i wanted to start a new game nothing would be saved because of the previous game, would you like to delete the existing game? then it gave directions on how to delete it.
