SOURCE: Kenmore Oasis HE Washer

problem started when washer started itself up twice in the middle of the night....after that the washer seems to have problems figuring out what it wants to do...when running a wash it will start, run for 2 minutes then start scanning numbers...it does not land on a code...it will spin, stop, start...sears has replaced the mother board 3 times....and we will be phoning them again as it has not fixed the problem..one other time it did not spin properly and clothes were wet...we have a dedicated surge protector on it...we have had our electrical checked and no problems there...sears confirmed that as well..the techs have given up on it and don't know what to do with anymore...it is still under warranty and now costing sears more to service it then replace it....time for them to do the right thing and "take it back"...very disappointed in this washer...wish me luck when i call them again...they must be sick of hearing from me....lol

SOURCE: clogged sinks and toilets

Never use Draino on a toilet. All pipe cleaning liquids are not really a solution, just a temporary fix.

Since you said that the slow draining is associated with both the toilets and the sinks then I am almost certain that you have a venting issue.

Imagine a drinking straw.....now if you hold your thumb on the end of the straw and bring it up abouve the water level water remains in the straw. This is because air can't get in to replace the water. When your finger is removed then the water flows freely.

As with the straw, your plumbing must also breath. I would bet that one or more vents that are on your roof have become clogged with debrise. Squirrels love to throw nuts and stuff down there to build their nests upon.

Climb up there (safety is a priority) and try running a snake (~$10 at lowes) and see if you hit any obstruction. If so, use the snake to dislodge it.

If you would like, pour water down the vents either by hose or bucket and see if the water backs up. If it does then you have a clog. You can also use the water to try to clear the clog.

Thanks.

SOURCE: american standard toilet running

There should be two screws on top of the assembly to control the level of the water. One increases, the other decreases. But if the bulb has a horizontal split it will have to be replaced. It simply screws of and on the arm. The water hose clips to the drain tube and the water should be directed inside the tube.

Buy a bulb, and if nothing else, bend the arm down to decrease the level of the arm and bulb and consequently the water level.

SOURCE: water leaks from freezer onto top shelves.

Remove the food and the ice maker from the freezer ( if equiped ) . Remove the rear freezer panel . Using a hair dryer , start in the middle , below the coils , defrosting , until you see the drain hole . Use hot water to help defrost the hole . Once water starts going thru the hole , use a small hose inserted into the hole , and blow thru , to remove any unseen debris in the drain line . Use an ALUMINUM or Copper solid wire , ( a ground wire or fence post tie ) 14-16 guage , with the insulation completely off , and insert one end into the drain hole as far as possible without any force . Wrap the other end about 1 1/2 to 2 turns , around the black rod (defrost heater) , above the hole . When refrig goes into defrost , the heat will transfer from the heater , to the wire , keeping the hole from freezing up again .

SOURCE: I have a toilet with

This seems like a problem with your cistern and not your macerator - I have a similar set up and if your push button is stuck you need to check the mechanism in the cistern - also you should have an overflow that drains into your loo within the cistern so you should check this for blockages as well.

Toilet water spins but wont drain . not evn when you add water to tank, it just overflows then

if it is a normal toilet / sewerage system, then get yourself some caustic soda ( make up a solution with water) and at the first bend in the sewerage line outside the toilet, remove the inspection cap and pour the solution in the pipe ,replace the cap and wait around 1 hour
remove the cap and use a hose to put extra water in to move the build up
If you have trees in the yard near the sewerage line then forget the caustic soda but get in a plumber with a snake cutter to cut the roots of the tree/s that have blocked the pipe
if it is a septic system then have the tank pumped out
if it is a tank system like in a caravan then empty the tank

Why is my 2002 jeep liberty over heating

First make sure the coolant level is full. This should be done with while the engine is cold.

If it's full than its most likely a bad thermostat, but could also be a bad water pump, or a bad electric fan ( don't remember off hand if yours has an electric or mechanical fan). If the water pump was bad you would not get heat out of the vents. If there is heat out the vents than the thermostat would be the most likely fix.

I'm guessing it has a float switch that shuts the water off when its full, and if it were bad it would not stop filling. Until the float switch tells the valve to close its also is not going to tell the pump to come on.

fill radiator to max capacity (a funnel that fits into rad.neck is great allows more capacity) run engine keeping funnel/radiator full do this until air bubbles stop coming up and the rad.cooling fan engages.DONE. make sure climate control isnt calling for ac or defrost as this will prematurally call for cooling fans

I changed my transmission pan and filter .drove my jeep for about an hour parked when i went to leave its shifting but not moving.

make sure the fluid level is full. also did the filter bolt on or push into a hole in the valve body? the push in type sometimes come back out and the fluid is not picked up by the trans pump.

Have 2003 Jeep Liberty limited, no heat coming from vents and temp gauge reading hot after running for a few minutes.

Not a mechanic - BUT .. Check your coolant level. Too little to circulate, so block gets hot very quickly. No circulate so no heat too. Do not just look at top up bottle, with cold engine, open radiator and look inside.

If it is full, then it's either the water pump failed or the thermostat is not opening. My money's on coolant level.

Jeep Liberty 2005 3.7 engine running hot, need to install thermostat? fan working, full of water , water tank cap fits good.

A new thermostat would be the easiest and cheapest to do first. There is also the water pump but that normally would cause a complete overheat, probably after about 20-30 miles, water boiling out the overflow.Good luck! Greg
