Funny thing, just had the same problem on a Canon mx850, one year old. the cause = a serious paper JAM. My solution, i freed all the paper around the two little black spongs under the inks cart. then, i turned the printer on, waited for it move the ink cart to the middle, after i unplugged the printer so that the ink stayed in the middle. this permits you to move it freely, and have the room to work on the purge system. 5c20 is the pruge system not working correctly! i actually had to take apart my printer, opened it in two to find that the little motor that moves the purge system just got unplugged, probably by the paper JAM!. simply replugged the little motor. before trying this, behind the two black hard sponges, under the white squeege that moves back and forth; is a little black wheel, with uneven teeth spaced on it. this only turns clock wise direction. must likely it's stuck, needs to do a complete turn to be realigned. clock wise only (try to move it if your not sure what side is clockwise, don't insist, it's not that hard to turn the right way!!) now, when you turn this wheel, the squeege moves back and forth and the sponges go up and down, alernating with the sponges. it should become easy again, and the problem should be alright!
it's to be noted that, i won'T open the printer like i did, if is just out of the box!! or still under warantee.
i live in the middle of no where, and i had nothing to lose in trying to fix it myself.
hope this helps, write for more questions

HP 4215xi all in one, continues to give the error paper jam, there is no paper jam. I have cleaned all sensors, rollers etc. I have tried a partial and full reset. Any ideas?

Hi,
  1. Turn off the HP product and turn it around so the back of the unit faces you.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the all-in-one. The power cord must be disconnected to allow the paper feed rollers to turn freely.
  3. Locate and open the rear access door by pressing in on the left side tab and then pulling the door toward you. Figure 2: Removing the rear access door

Inspect the pressure rollers on the rear access door and verify that they are clean and turn freely. Clean the rollers if needed with a soft towel lightly moistened with water. If the rollers do not turn freely, replace the rear access door. Click How to Buy on this page to order replacement parts.
  1. From the rear access door opening, remove the jammed paper.
  2. Remove the remaining paper from the paper supply tray. Discard any paper that is damaged or crumpled and then re-stack and reload the paper into the paper supply tray.
  3. Reinstall the rear access door.
  4. Reconnect the power cord to the unit and turn the unit on.

The following information will help prevent paper jams from occurring:
  • Never use paper that is torn or wrinkled.
  • If you are having problems using paper that has already been printed on once (recycling), replace it with new paper.
  • Remove and then reinstall the rear access door. Verify that the access door is fully locked in place. The paper can skew if the rear access door is not locked.
  • Every six months to one year, clean the paper feed rollers with a rag lightly moistened with water. Over time the paper feed rollers accumulate dust and do not function as well as they once did.
  • When printing envelopes, tuck the flap into the envelope and crease the folds before printing.
Goodluck..

Waste tank near full

Hi
The waste ink take is actually just a felt pad that sits under the printer mechanism inside the case and absorbs the ink from your cleanings

Try this:
1 Power off printer
2 Hold RESUME button then press and hold POWER. (The beeper MAY sound once, or may not depending on your model.)
3 Hold POWER and Release RESUME.
4 Press RESUME twice then release both POWER and RESUME buttons.
5 When the indicator lights steady, press RESUME 4 times (for the S900, 3 times for the 8200 apparently).
6 Press power to set data.
7 Print away!

Let me know if that didnt solve your problem

System Error: Code E000 Product manual: Turn off for 10 minutes. "if you cannot solve the problem" "call your service representative" I don't have a service rep. Please help. David717

I posted a note with a contact number..this appears to be a service level request

A E000 coeds means the error history has detected any one of the following error codes 4 times :E001;E002;E003.
The error can be cleared in the service mode.

Brand new PIXMA MP520 just connected up. Having just installed the print head and the ink cartridges, now getting message when turn on the printer. >>> 6A80 Printer error has occurred. Turn...

Hi there,

I opened the printer, and pushed gently on the lever that holds/releases the print head, and this seemed to release whatever was stuck. After this the print head moved freely on turning on the printer/copier.

Canon i80

Hi,
take out all of the cartridges, and carefully inspect the mating ( chip surfaces ) for dirt-dust-debris.
This could be a sensor related issue, look carefully at the printer itself to see if theres any switches or relays, that the actual cartridge mates up with when installed.
sometimes, the cartridge just needs taking out, and simply reinserting, push firmly into it,s slot.
if non of this works, turn off the printer, and check the cabling for suspected damage wear, or connecting. i.e bent pins et,c.
