I talked to you earlier about my oven. The self cleaning light will not go off. I tried setting the timer for one hour and it still did not go off. I tried to unplug my oven and that did not work either. Can you help me?

Even thgough you set it for 1 hour it needs time to cool down before the light goes off. Is the oven door still locked? If yes that's an indication that self-cleaning is still active. Unpluging usually does nothing but restart the timer. If available I'd suggest pressing reset or cancel on the control pad.

Next to were you start the auto-clean cycle there should be a area that allows you to cancel the auto-clean.

Since your a renter it's the responsibility of the owner to take care of any appliance problems. Have you contacted them? In some localities owners have to remedy problems within a specific time period.

I need to clean my double ovens, but do not have the owner's manual. I know that I simple press the Clean button, but how long do I set the timer for?

You only need to reset the time if you want a cleaning cycle other than 4 hours. The default start is press Self-Clean then Start. Otherwise, press Start, type in a time between 3 and 5 hours (Min/Max cycle length) and then press Start. Do this with the number pad, do not press the Timer button. If you wish to clean both ovens, the second one will start when the first one finishes.

The Locked door light will go off when the oven has cooled below the Lock temperature. If you interupt the cleaning cycle by pressing Clear/Off, the door will remain locked until the oven cools.

I hope this helps.

Self cleaning lock handle does not unlock

Unplug power, wait one hower and plug cord back.

That should reset the oven, if it does not, the oven timer control is clearly defective and should be replaced , you find parts here.

Moffat Stove with a self-cleaning oven. I would like to know how to clean the oven using the "self cleaning" feature

hi there! I have a moffat stove and hopefully these instructions help you.
First clear out the racks in your oven. Take them out and remove any excess chunks at the bottom.
Then close your oven door and lock it by pulling the lock latch.
Now looking at your oven knobs [not your burner knobs] turn both of them so they are both on the arrow knob [your oven knobs should have small pictures on them and both should have arrows]
Now you need to set the time so in the middle of your oven their should be a timer and one start and stop timer on top of each other. Both timers go in increments of half an hour. So if you are starting your self cleaner at 3 move the dial to 3 or if you are starting at 3:30 move the dial to one tick after 3. Once you set your start timer, you need to set your stop timer.
Setting your stop timer, it is recommended to set it for 3-5 hours. I set mine for 4 hours. So then set stop timer to time you want the cleaning to be. If you set your start timer at 3:30 put your stop timer at 7:30.
The oven will start cleaning according to the time you set. The oven will get very hot. I recommend to not used the burners as the temperature goes to 500 degrees! You will smell an odor and that is your oven cleaning.... Hope this helps...

I need an owner manuel for Caloric Range Model # EST 345 I can'g figure out how to run the self cleaning oven cycle.

you might try the following, although it is the instructions for an old model, it may be relevant;

"The actual self-cleaning process is initiated by a simple 5 step procedure: 1. Set the range clock to time of day. Note: on models not equipped with an automatic oven timer, the self-cleaning cycle is preprogrammed for a 21/2 hour cycle. Use Steps 3, 4 and 5 only. 2.Establish the length of cleaning time by:
A. Setting the start time. Press and turn the start dial of the automatic oven timer clockwise to the desired starting time. B. Set the stop time. Press and turn the stop dial of the automatic oven timer clockwise to the desired stop time. Max time is 3 hours miniumum 1/12 hours. 3. Set the oven selector dial on the control panel to "Clean" 4. Set the temperature control dial to "off". If you temperature control dial has a "Clean" position, then set the dial to "Clean" instead of "Off". 5. Remove oven racks, broiler pan and broiler grid from lower oven. Close and lock the oven door by moving the latch lever as far right as it will go - into the locked position. If the lever is accidently dislodged restore it to the locked position. Otherwise, the self-cleaning process will not take place. Shortly after the cleaning cycle has begun, the oven temperatur reaches a degree in excess of the normal broiling temperature. The red "Clean" light will come on and the clean cycle will start. In a few minutes the door lock lever, which you have placed in the locked position, will automatically be secured to prevent the oven door from beging opened during the cleaning cycle. This latch remains locked until the clean cycle is complete and the oven temperature reduces to normal baking and broiling temperaturs. NOTE: Prior to self cleaning cycle operation, the oven and surface lights must be turned offed. The upper oven can be used."

I started my oven on ''clean'' -- how long should this take?

Whithout knowing the model number in general it takes several hours for the cleaning cycle. My oven takes approx. 4 hours to complete a good cleaning. On my own oven, you can set the timer for as long as you want. Do you have an owners manual? If not, you can find one here...........

Self cleaning oven instructions

Self cleans generally do a good ****on small messes in 2 -2.5 hours. Larger messes take 3. Leaving the racks in is okay...but they will likely lose their shiny appearance. Manuals are on the GE website.
