Question about HP Officejet Pro L7780 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

I had an alert that my yellow ink cartradige was low on ink. I replace it and then got an alert that my black cartridge was low on ink. I replaced that and then got an alert that says "The printhead(s) has a problem black/yellow, and magenta/cyan. So - I replaced all cartridges and that alert remains. I have tried to print and am unable to do so. What do I do now? Thanks. Troy Johnson

Well that didn't work. Unless you have another solution then I suppose I will have to take it to get it serviced. Thanks anyway. Troy

First try cycling the power to reset the unit. Turn off the printer. Then unplug the power cord from both printer and the outlet. Wait at least 30 seconds then plug it back into the outlet and then the printer. Turn on the printer.

If the error persists, clean the print head contacts. With the printer on, open the top cover. Press and hold the OK button for 5 seconds; the carriage will move to the left side of the printer. Release the OK button. Wait until the carriage is idle and silent. Unplug the power cord (do not use the power button to turn off the unit). Lift the handle on the print head with the error message (all for you but do them one at a time). Pull out the printhead from its slot. With a dry, soft, lint-free cloth wipe the copper electrical contacts on the front (not the nozzles at the bottom). Repeat until all the left over ink is gone and then dry with a new, clean cloth. Use another dry, soft, lint-free cloth to clean the contacts inside the printer. Remove any lingering debris.

Plug in the power cord and press the power button. Reinstall the print head (the screen should be reading printhead missing). Make sure it is firmly in place with the contacts touching the ones in the printer and the latch is secure. Repeat the steps for the other print head. Then close the top of the printer. Print an alignment page (should be automatic).

If this doesn't work, try a new print head (HP not remanufactured). The final option is servicing the unit.

I hope this helps.

How to Replace catridge epson stylus c43sx

Are any of the cartridges empty or not? Always replace the cartridges with the printer on.

If you do not have any low ink alerts, you need to enter the maintenance mode. Press the Maintenance button (has both an ink drop and a paper symbol) and the Power button at the same time. Then open the black printer cover (lift up).

If any cartridges are low or out, just lift up the printer cover. Then press the maintenance button. The cartridge carrier will move the empty cartridge to the replacement position. (If both cartridges are out or you are using the Maintenance mode, the cartridge carrier will move the black cartridge to the replacement position.) Lift up the cartridge clamp (at the back of the carrier for current cartridge to replace; it will rotate towards you.). Then lift the cartridge up; dispose of the empty cartridge. Unwrap your new cartridge and remove the yellow tape (do not touch the IC chip or remove the other tape from the cartridge). Push the new cartridge straight down into the carrier.

Close the cartridge clamp and press the maintenance button to move the color cartridge to the replacement position. Repeat the cartridge replacement steps above for that cartridge. Close the printer cover. Then press the Maintenance button again and wait while the printer charges the ink system.

For pictures to go with the steps, see http://support2.epson.net/manuals/english/ij/stylusc43/REF_G/INK_1.HTM .

I hope this helps.

We have a Dell 944 showing Error 1102 consult user guide...cannot find the user guide. We just replaced color ink cartridge with a re-processed one ordered online. Please advise...many thanks!.

Hi there
Dell Printer 944 error message 1102
Please unplug the printer from the wall. Now remove the power brick from the back of the printer for 60 seconds. Now plug everything back in. This will reset any error messages the printer has. Now open the printer with the power on and the cartridges should go to the center to be replaced. Take out both Dell Series 5 ink cartridges and make sure the tape is off the cartridges and insert both back in and make sure the seat properly and latch. Close the printer and it should print an alignment page. If you still get the error message

Why does my Dell ink cartridge level still show up as "low ink" after refilling them?
Dell ink cartridges have a sensor that reports the ink level as low once it reaches a certain level. The sensor can not
be reset. If you refill an ink cartridge that previously reported low ink, it may print fine, but the sensor will always
report low ink. Buying or replacing ink cartridges with new Dell cartridges will resolve the low ink message.

Dell discourages ink refills. Refilling ink may lead to print quality problems, and even eventual hardware problems.
This post is in no way a validation of refilling ink cartridges.

Why my printer is reporting “low ink" after using refilled/remanufactured ink cartridges?
Most ink cartridges have sensors that report the ink level. The “Low Ink” is usually the last sensor (fuse) before
running out of ink.

Since the sensors are fuses that open when the ink level drops, they cannot be reset. If you are using refill or
remanufactured ink cartridges, the best thing to do is to disable “ink alerts” on the printer’s software so you don’t keep
getting “low ink” messages.

To disable “Ink Alerts” on Dell inkjet printers:
1. Open the Dell printer software (All-In One Center, Tool Box, etc)
2. Go to Settings
3. Advanced
4. More Options
5. In the “Appearance Mode, window, check “Never display the Printing Status window” and “Display the low
ink alert only when the cartridges are almost empty.
Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

If a cartridge is expended, you must replace it to be able to print. If a cartridge is low, you can continue printing until a cartridge needs replacement. You cannot print or copy when an ink cartridge is expended even if the other cartridges are not expendedI have come across this issue many times and unforunately you have to replace the colour carts in order to continue to use the printer.

Orange light blinking

Solution: Confirm the ink tank(s) are properly installed iP4300

Ensure that the ink tank is installed properly. Open the Top Cover, Paper Output Tray and Inner Cover, and then press on the 'PUSH' mark on the ink tank whose lamp is off until the ink tank clicks into place. Once the ink tank is installed properly its lamp will light red.
Ensure that all the orange tape has been peeled off as shown in (1). If a part of the orange tape remains as shown in (2), remove it completely.

(1) Correct (An L-shaped notch* appears on the ink tank.)

(2) Incorrect (Orange tape remains. Peel off the tape along the perforation.)

Cannot get yellow to print

I had the same problem with the yellow cartridge. Yellow quit printing, put in a new yellow and still would not print yellow. I had a help file, don't know where I got it, but it suggested replacing the black ink cartridge also, even though the black wasn't low yet. Replaced the black, ran a few nozzle cleans and everything worked fine. Don't know why. Try it
