my pellet stove just started acting up. the feed auger will run just enough to fill the burnpot, but after that when it turns off and the pellets in the burnpot have burnt up it will not kick back on. it just dies out. in order to turn it back on i have to unplug my pellet stove and plug it back in. then it does the same thing again.

my pellet stove starts up, runs a while, turns the glass black, then the black smoke rolls around and flames shoot out the vents.....(like a combustion of some sort) it goes dead and then restarts, all with smoke coming out of it. its a turbo fire 2001, i can't find any manuals, help or anything on it. is there an answer out there???? many thanks, dayne

This can be caused by wind. Especially if the vent is a direct vent, or in the center of the wall of your house. Has this happened since installed or just started? If since installed, probably not installed properly. If recent, just needs a good cleaning.

Have you cleaned the Tee Cleanout at the bottom?

Burns smokey probably means rather the venting needs cleaned. Or the fuel to air ratio is off. first try adjusting the fuel feed down. then make sure the fire has a lot of air to it. you dont want a lazy flame. Also make sure the exaust fan is working.

It sounds like your auger timer is not working. When you unplug it the timer resets it self and when the run cycle goes to the off cycle it never goes back the run cycle. Check the red and the green lights on your timer and see if thay change over 5 minutes. Dan

My pellet stove is makin a lot of ashes and the flame isnt working as fast as it should.what is the problem?

Air, air, air! If the pellets don't get the forced air from the fan they burn slowly. Also if the air vent is blocked or partially blocked you will have the same symptoms!

My pellet stove will start but the auger will not drop pellets. What should I do.

You need to replace the auger motor. Go to fasco .com they may have one. Or enco.com I have a pellet stove and i have replaced both the auger motor and the motor that turns the hopper.

Had the same problem which I discovered this weekend..........

I have an eleven year old Afton Bay....the versa grate was not moving. I look into the inner workings of the stove and saw a bracket which had broken off....

The bracket was attached to the versa grate rod and made contact with the cam system in the stove...this is what moves the versa grate...........

I called my dealer, the part costs about $12.00 and looks like it can be replaced with out having a service guy come out..........

Hope this helps
