See maybe it asks for a 3rd party driver ..like raid in pc...(equivalent ) if does,, this may be present on the drivers disk that came with it ...when it asks insert the disk and let it copy it ..and continue...or if you have a floppy ..insert in parallel a disk-ete wilth the driver it asks for..and it will continue..you may also try with a usb stick ..and put all drivers you have on it ..and let it choose (just show the path..) or ..if it asks for a certain driver browse for it ..but in this conditions it may need a usb driver..
another posibility is that the disk you are trying to install from is damaged..so if you have the possibility burn another one ...cause if it is scratched or so ..it may not read some files...

If you have an external harddrive enlosure, attached your G3's harddrive to your MacBook Pro. Launch your Disk Utility. Applications folder > Utilities folder > Disk Utility. Select the hard drive in the left hand column and click on the Erase tab.

After erasing the drive, put it back to your PowerBook G3, boot from 9.2.1 CD and do a fresh install.

Select the Volume Format "Mac OS Extended" not journaled. Do NOT check the "install Mac OS 9 Disk Driver".

When adding comment, please quote the name of the solution provider so I would know if you are referring to my solution or not.

Did you try to erase the partition? What is the result? Were you able to erase successfully?

Reinstalling system software

Good question, the wall street is the same as the Pismo. A great and simple machine. I recommend using os x 10.4 as the highest level. You install the system disc in the optical drive and restart it from its pop up menu. then it will prompt you for each step. You can also hold down the option key on startup to select the disc to boot from.

There is a list of key commands on apple support. Easy way to do it is to just let the disk prompt you after it restarts.

I cant remember my macbook Pro password

Your best option is to use a Mac OS X install disk. Insert the disk, hold the 'C' key to startup from the CD drive, and there should be an option to reset your Administrator password. The details will depend on the version of OS X.

MacBook won't recognize my Lacie Rugged Hard Disk. Disk utility will see it but won't verify it nor will it repair it. says it needs to be reformatted yet it won't even let me initialize it. it is brand...

Is your MacBook as fast as the Lacie Rugged Hard Disk is?

Because solid state drive wasn't available on MacBook Pro at the initial time when it launched. Hard drives on all current Apple laptops are equipped with Sudden Motion Sensor technology. In fact, the Apple laptops that came with Sudden Motion Sensor are: All Intel-based Apple portables such as the MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, PowerBook G4 computers starting with PowerBook G4 (12-inch 1.5GHz), PowerBook G4 (15-inch 1.67/1.5GHz), PowerBook G4 (17-inch 1.67GHz), and iBook G4 computers starting with iBook G4 (Mid 2005) have Sudden Motion Sensor technology. You MacBook may not have come with that technology that could be the reason you are unable to connect it.

sometimes with notebooks etc the manufacturer puts administrator restrictions to stop you installing active x, if the macbook is working ok with version 9 I suggest you keep using that version, however if you wish to install version 10 go to the adobe site and ask for assistance or read the troubleshooting guides, but they will probably tell you the same as I have.

One Touch 4 Maxstor 750 external hard drive installing on a macbook pro

If you have a hard-drive that is formatted as NTFS which stands for (New Technology File Ssytem), Mac OS X can only read the partition. It cannot write to it.

The trick is to use your drive manfacturer's disk-formatting software which will allow you to format your drive as one large partition. Formatting your drive as one large FAT 32 partition is the easiest way to make a drive so it can be used with both PC's and Mac's.

Another option is to use a third part utility so that you can read a MAC formated harddrive's from your PC. Here is one option: http://www.macdrive.com/.

Good luck.
