It is called Hard Drive Caddy connector or Hard drive bracket , part number 465170802.
Ensure that you do not need the whole caddy.
Here is a reseller find more by putting part number in google.

My Sony VAIO Notebook VPCX11S1E wont boot up anymore. when i try it jyst goes to blue screen. How can i get iSony VAIO Notebook VPCX11S1E it to load up and start up normally.?

It seems that your machine is suffering a fatal error on startup. If the blue screen flashes up with some non-sensical writing on it then that is the error I speak of. This condition can be caused by a faulty piece of hardware, most commonly the hard disk drive in my experience. BUT it can also be just a faulty file in the Operating System on your machine and may not be a hardware problem at all.

Either way, the first ting I would do in your position is to reinstall your Operating System. You are using Windows 7 I see. Windows 7 is a good OS. In order to try to recover your computer you will need an original Windows 7 DVD disk. Insert the disk into the DVD drive and then follow the instructions at this like here...

Where is the best place to get a new hard drive for a sony vaio pcg-frv25? I need a ide pata hard drive.

You're on the right track--it doesn't need to be custom-manufactured for Sony notebooks--just needs to be an internal mobile IDE-PATA hard drive. Still, I would recommend at least looking for something name brand with a decent warranty. Amazon and Newegg.com both have the Western Digital WD2500BEVE (250GB) for $79.99. That's a decent price (not mind-boggling), but more importantly it's a solid size/price reference point--e.g., if you find a 500GB name-brand hard drive for the same price, pull the trigger immediately.

Broken HDD, HDD to replace. Guide to open the machine to replace HDD

look on the bottom for a couple icons that look like a 50 gallon barrel. this is the hard drive access door. its typically 3-4 screws to open the door. you will see the hard drive its 3.5" wide by approx 4" long. with connectors on only one end. lift the drive out and gently pull the connectors off . presto hard drive in hand. i welcome your comments.

The port you plug the power cord into is not making a good connection - how to fix?

Try to pull the tab from the inside (Laptop) outward a little but be gentle, this holds the cable firm.

Laptop will not boot, Sony Vaio VGN CR220E, lights come on, don't hear the Hard drive start up, however. I get the clunks from the CD drive, but that's all.

Hi,
Such problems happen when you have either faulty RAM or faulty Mother Board. Repairing MotherBoard Chip is a costly affair but replacing RAM is convenient and most probable solution.

My boyfriend has a sony vaio laptop that he recentley drop, now nothing will load, what could be the problem?

Worst case: The hard drive was damaged.

Best case: The hard drive was knocked loose from the connector. Open the "door" to the hard drive and re-seat the hard drive.

VGN-Tx750p does not start up

The Operating System may have got corrupted. In this case, you may reinstall Windows using the VAIO Recovery Wizard, provided you've not changed the factory installed Windows Operating System.

The VAIO Computer is shipped with the VAIO Recovery Wizard housed in a 5 GB of hidden partition on the pre-installed Hard Drive.

Restart the Computer and keep tapping the F10 key until the VAIO logo appears to access the VAIO Recovery Wizard.

Follow the steps given in the link below to use the VAIO Recovery Wizard to reinstall Windows, Drivers and all the pre-installed applications.

Hi there.
There are normally 2 kinds of hard drives in laptops at the moment apart from solid state HDD's which are mainly in Acer Onebooks etc.

It will be one of these type of hard drive which goes into the Viao probably the SATA HDD.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

Laptop

it could be that
  • you got a virus that corrupted your hard disk or MBR (Master Boot Record)
  • your hard drive is dead
  • or your hard drive is corrupted
Try booting from a system disk (Windows XP CD, recovery CD or system floppy) and let me know what happens.
