Hi Karen.
I'm having exactly the same problem with my Gaggia Classic. I have just been trawling through the gaggia problems on this page and have come across several possible causes and solutions.
I have copied and pasted them onto a seperate page as I know I'll never be able to find them again.
Search this site and if you have no luck I can email the page I copied. just put Gaggia in subject box.

From what I gather it could possibly be a bit of lime scale that has broken off and clogged the water pump.
Good luck and don't hesitate to email me if I can be of any help

Noise could be several issues motor, tranny, clutch. But as for the water issue make sure that the cold water side of the valve on the back of unit is clean. Remove hoses and look for plugged screens.

Engine makes alot of noise

There can be many reasons for the noise but if you can pour some water on the fan belt and the AC belt while the engine is started and if the noise drops off then the belt can be faulty. Also check the pulley idler, check the water pump. If not there can be faulty timing chain , idler or within the engine.

When running load noise coming from black cylinder

That part you identified is the compressor of the dehumidifier. Compressor is probably bad or going bad. When compressor go bad the valves start making noise and they lose alot of there efficiency.

I have a different suggestion based on my washer's similar problem. If the black stuff is powdery and localized at the back of the unit, more than likely the culprit is the drum pulley itself is warped, causing the belt to chafe against the drum. The black powder is rubber residue from the scraping of belt on plastic. No need to replace unit. New belt and new pulley run about $70 each.

Washer machine Won't drain

more than likely that it is blocked pull the washer clear so you can see the back get your outlet hose and place into a bucket and see if the water comes out if it doesnt than pump/pipe blocked better off taking washer outside because when you release the outlet pipe from your pump thert will be alot of water that will come out if it comes out of the pump than your pipe will be blocked m8
