If you are plugging in a monitor cable, it is most likely a cable issue. I would try another cable and make sure the cable is seated firmly into the projector. If that doesn't help, check the port on the projector for bent or missing pins because it seems that not all of the video information is reaching the unit.

Are the yellow, red & white cables RCA phono plugs?
Yellow = Video
Red = Right Audio
White = Left Audio (mono)
The red, blue & green cables are for picture only and don't include sound. Have you tried using the red, blue & green for the picture and using the other cable, red & white for just the sound? Don't use the yellow.

There may be a failure starting on the video or matrix driver boards. This has to be verified at the service center. The fix will be done by swapping in a new board to replace the failing one(s), and re-doing the factory setups to make sure that the default colour temperature and levels are correct.
I suggest that if the set is out of warranty ask for an estimate first.

2 things this could be: The LCD panel is blown because of incorrect shutting down - not letting the fan cool the unit - there is no fix for this!
the unit has sucked in oil from a smoke machine or is in a smokey enviroment - this can be fixed by VERY carefully opening the unit and cleaning the lenes and lcd panels withs meths and a cotton bud
