Using an external hardrive is fairly simple. plug it in and wait for your computer to recognize it then when done, your all set. if you need instructions. refer to the manufacturers website.

How can i open or break my external hard drive password

Try to open it and remove teh drives one by oen and connect them into computer directly and see if you can save the data first ..than format it ..cause there is no way to change the password..If you have access into the info inside it may be a chance to locate the file with the password ..But it is a long shoot ..
My advice is to format it and never use password if you know you have these kinda problems ..
I repeat ..if you have important data ..there can be accessed directly if you connect the drives inside directly and do not use the board of the device ..basically they are still hard disks and can be seen if you connect them on sata or ide ..depending on what kinda plug they have ..Beware if it is in warranty ..opening it will make it useless ..

Adding second harddrive but dont see it in my coputer

Try restarting your computer and press the correct (F1-F12) option that enters you into SETUP. Using the 4 directional arrow keys, select DRIVES then hit ENTER. This will bring you to see each SATA port. At this point you will need to scroll through each one insuring they are all ENABLED or ON. Follow the on screen instructions to accomplish this task as BIOS versions vary from each computer. You should then be directed to press F10 to save and exit SETUP. Upon restart you should now see your secondary, or backup HD is recognized. If you need any further assistance , please feel free to email me and I will respond as quickly as possible.

I want to put a song on my 4gb cruzer directly from the web

Hello

Ok, when you are asked to where you want to save the file which you are downloading, you just choose the brows option. With your flash drive plugged in, brows to your drive and safe it directly on the drive.

Hope this can help. If not, just leave a comment so i can give you more detailed instructions.

Kind regards
Andrea

Instruction manual

Hard drives dont need instructions. Connect it to your computer. Go to where you would format the drive ( like disk utility for the MAC ). Format it for the proper file system ( HFS,UFS,MS-DOS, NTFS...) That's it. Eject it always before you disconnect it, and treat it gentle like a baby. In the thousands of these that I've sold and repaired, they never came with instructions, just a cd with drivers for windows.

I could point you to this, because no matter who makes the drive, it's the same product, some are just made better, and some last longer. I would just stay away from plastic. rives spin anywhere from 4200-10,000 RPMs. That can generatesome heat even after 5 minutes.

Don't be fooled by slick looking hard drives. Your're gonna put some import stuff on that thing. If it fails due to poor quality like the infamous Lacie D2, that slick case means nothing when your drive is clicking its last death and being asked to pay 10 times the cost of that drive for starters to possibly recover it. I prefer seagate drives and wiebetech enclosures. Heavy duty, no non sense hardware, and I treat these things like they owe me.

FYI, seagate (the only American HD manufacturer and the best on the planet ) bought out Maxtor 2 yrs ago.

this error is basically a fatal error. you will endd up needing to replace your hard drive soon but if you dont like doing a recovery every few days and loosing your information all the time replace the hard drive
