There are three main components in a defrost circuit, the heater, the thermostat and the control device(either a timer or and ADC board). One of these are not working.

My whirlpool bottom freezer is leaking water my model is EB9FVBLWS04

Here is a=> EB9FVBLWS04 Parts Manual Go to page 3 and you will see item location 11 You may need to move some of the rack or drawer hardware on one side of the freezer liner to be able to remove item 11 in that photo on page 3 of the parts diagram before you are able to get to the drain opening very well. Here is more at this link Leaking Refrigerators. After removing the ice from the opening you will still need to force something through the drain to cause the blockage to be broken loose to prevent what causes the water and ice buildup. My Whirlpool bottom-freezer, french-door refrigerator is 3 years old. All the lights work fine, as does the ice-maker, and the main compartment cools as it should. The problem is: the compressor motor...

Newer model refrigerators run a lot more than older ones but you could have leaks around gaskets, check freezer compartment and see if there ice buildup around door if so let this defrost by turning off if possible. The defrost circuit should take care of this but sometimes in very humid weather it does not.

Whirlpool fridge model # ed2fhgxkt04, ser # sm4434895. I am getting ice buildup in bottem of freezer. no ice on food or sides of freezer. where is defrost drain located to clear and or defrost it?

First off, if you get in a hurry, you can cause serious damage.
The machine must be unplugged, and allowed to completely defrost.
24 hours would be considered normal, but you can quicken that up some by placing a floor fan in front of the freezer compartment with the freezer door left open.
You can access the drain hose by removing the rear access panel.
Service techs then use compressed air connected to a hose and insert it in the end of the drain hose, and, BLOW AIR THRU IT GENTLY.
2 causes for this problem. one, the drain was in fact plugged up. Two, if the machine has an icemaker, the fill hose from the water valve to the ice maker is leaking, causing water to leak and then freeze in the bottom of the freezer.

There is ice buildup in the drain and maybe under the seperator. Remove the back panel in the freezer and the botom floor of the freezer and remove the ice. Be careful of the styrofoam ducts. Eric

Water leaking from icemaker on outside

If this is your water dispenser leaking
Your water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in is probably leaking. disconnect the water line coming out of it and see if you have a slow drip. Try the dispenser to see if it's just drips after use.

Ice buildup around freezer door seal.

Hi, Check and see if the gasket is leaking any where. Also check and see if the door to you ice dispenser is closing. Ice/frost only builds up around the door hen there is an air leak.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know if I can assist you further,

Thanks

check for:
