Question about Yahoo Mail

1 Answer

I have just changed from hotmail to yahoo. My friend helped me as I am only slightly computer literate. I was getting spammed badly with hotmail so decided to change over. I have not yet completely closed my hotmail as I have a lot of folders to check. You kindly informed most of my contacts of the change. Unfortunately a lot went to their junk mail boxes. My son sent me a reply as he was one of the lucky ones so I sent him a note back. I have tried twice to contact him but each time you have told me I can't do that. I am very confused.

Hello,
If you are using an email program such as Outlook etc. you must use Yahoo Mail Plus service. To use this service you have to purchase it first.
I don't know whether you purchase and use that service or not.
If you are not using Yahoo Mail Plus service you may receive mail but can not send using POP3.

But, you can use Yahoo Mail in the web. To do that:
- Open the web page which you will login to Yahoo Mail. For that click here.
- Sign in yahoo mail account writing your Yahoo ID, and password.
- After log in your mail account click inbox and check mail as shown in the picture below.
I have just changed from - 737a728.jpg

You will receive and see your mails.
Hope this helps.
If you continue not to receive your mails please send me your comments.
Regards.

    Hi again Rubygracer,

I didn't receive any comments back from you. Did you manage to send mail?

If the problem solved it is ok. But if you want to use outlook etc. mail programs on your desktop and want to be able to send/receive mails without purchasing "Yahoo Mail Plus" service, I can also give you some tips to do that.

    Waiting your comments.

Hope your problem is solved using web interface as I explained in my first message.

Help I think my Yahoo Account has been compromised or hacked!!

that happend to me. all you have to do is log on to your yahoo account and change your pass code . when you leave your yahoo account make sure you log out every time. if you stay logged in theres a much bigger chance of it being hacked again. your passcode should be made up of some numbers, mixed upper case and lower case letters. after i changed mine the problems stopped.

I am getting spam attaching to old deleted emails and recent emails and sending spam messages out to friends from my yahoo account. Please givve me a phone number to talk to someone lieive. you can reach...

Do you use a yahoo client on your computer? If so, your computer is probably infected with a virus. The only reason that you would be sending spam from your email account is if someone hacked it, or if you are using a client program on your computer, and it is infected with a virus.

If you are using the web version of yahoo, please change your password immediately.

Otherwise, download the free version of malwarebytes at www.malwarebytes.org. Install and update the program, then run a scan. It will remove most viruses.

A lot of my friends use yahoo mail however yahoo has my address blocked or marked as spam what can I do?

If your emails are being marked as spam by Yahoo, then you could try this
(1) send an email to one of your friend's yahoo mail
(2) ask your friend to go into their yahoo mail Spam
folder, open the message from you, and click the "Not Spam" button.

I sent a friends email address to spam by mistake,I havent got any emails since how do I retrieve the address from spam and is it blocked by sending to spam

Hi, It is not your fault that your mail to your friend entered spam. Email service providers usually have that issue especially yahoo. Gmail is better in that it accepts most mail without spamming then. Mails in spam folders are usually automatically deleted after some time on Yahoo. What you need to do is tell your friends who use Yahoo to include your name in their address books. That way, when they get mail from you, it will not enter spam. You can always check your "Sent" folder for a copy of the mail you sent earlier that didn't get to them.
Cheers.

Hi I was wondering that if someone has 2 Hotmail Accounts with the exact same name does this mean that they are a Computer Hacker? So far I've had a few people from Russia requesting to be on my contact...

Quite probably

NEVER open a friend request unless you are 100% certain that you know the person.

These types of thing can also be used to infect computers and to them infect the computers in your friends list.

You can check your mail (ONLINE) and mark them as spam or junk.

How tp prevent SPAM from flooding my yahoo inbox?

Sometimes those attractive featured ads can be really dangerous for your account safety. Opening your inbox and finding a flood of spam mails is irritating though, but Yahoo has an option to keep your inbox clean from spam mails. To avoid spam you add filters to different folders contain different criteria. It will also help you to sort and organize your incoming mails. Filters are specially built in such a way that it automatically redirects your mail according to the respective criteria. Learn more about "how to create Yahoo filters" here:

Email not arriving

Verify with your ISP if they have  a Spam Trap, and how you can "whitelist" addresses.  If they have a spam trap,  you might NEVER never see the emails it catches.   You could ask them to turn it off and see how much more email traffic  you get.
