Go to control panel > Device Manager > scroll down to the network devices and click on the plus sign. Highlight the wireless device. Right click on it and choose uninstall. click ok and reboot the system. When windows reloads, it will recognice the new device and want to load the drivers for it. It may ask you if it can search windows update for a fresh driver, allow it to continue. The drivers will load and the correct settings applied. All should be as it should.
I'm not sure if you are saying that your laptop does not have an Insert button or if your insert button isn't working.
The question here is what version of Word are you using?
In Word 2007 they disabled use of the Insert / INS button. If you wish to turn overtype mode on you now need to do the following -
Click the Microsoft Office Button , and then
click Word Options.
Under Editing options, select or clear the Use
overtype mode check box.
You can turn the use of the Insert button back on here.
Make sure that you have installed the the internet connection that you are trying to connect to so that the computer will know what network to connect to by going to control panel, clicking on network connections and making sure that the one you are trying to log in is on the list.
To troubleshoot a no sound issue first you must check your device manager to make sure the audio device is installed properly.
To goto the device manager in XP: Right click my computer>Properties > Hardware Tab > Device manager.
Look for your audio device in the list under "Sound, Video and game controllers". If it has a exclamation mark or question mark beside it you will need to download the most recent drivers from the manufacturer's website.
Next step is to goto start>programs>accessories>entertainment>volume control make sure that Wave nor Master Volume is not muted, and both are turned up.
Third step is to check for onboard volume control, there might be volume controls on the system hardware itself.
If you say that external speakers work and not the built in speakers, then the headphone jack that you plug the speakers into may be defective. As it is always detecting something plugged into it and never turns the internal speakers on.
