Question about Computers & Internet
I have an older dell laptop that i had bought recently and we were changing the username and password on it,and well my son was by us when we were doing it and ended up hitting a couple buttons which i did not notice and so i shut my computer off and now i can not log back on to it.i have tired going on safe mode and writing in administrator and leaving the password blank but nope and i tryed writing in guest but it's been disabled.is there anything else i can try or should she just be takin in or chucked?
Your computer then has saved to the hard drive whatever has been pressed on the keyboard as your password. Shutting it off automatically by default saves such work before powering down.
Look on the bottom of the computer chassis for a small hole about the size of a sharpened pencil lead. With the computer on, use a small object such as a hair pin that will fit in the hole...it is a reset button. Hold it down until the computer shuts off. Then reboot. This MAY solve your problem.
