I have charged the rechargeable battery that came with the headset. I have charged the headphones as suggested for over 24 hours. When I charge the headset the charge light comes on. When I turn the set on the power light comes on. The stereo light on the other side does not come on. I do not get any sound at all.

I also have Radio Shack wireless headphones. Mine did not come with the rechargeable batteries, I bought them separately. I have Nickel Metal Hydride 700mAh batteries. How long should I leave it on the charger? Does the green "charge" light disappear when the batteries are fully charged, or are you just supposed to guess?

I have a pair of tp-1a headphones. The headphone jack broke off. What do I do to replace it.

If you want to fix it yourself go to and buy a new headphone plug. You can go to radio shack, but their headphone plug is very large but you won't need to solder anything. Cut the wires and strip off the plastic. You will see very small wires coated in red and blue if I remember correctly. You will need to separate all little wires so the colors are together. The color coatings need to be removed. Put them in the flame of a lighter for just a quick second. The coating will burn off. Scratch off the excess with your fingernail.

You will need to plug the new headphone plug into an ipod and touch the wires to the connectors to figure out which wires are for the left and the right speakers.

Solder the wires to the new headphone jack. You will find the partsexpress jacks are much better than the original.

If you use the radio shack plug you may want to put a little hot glue with a glue gun around the wires before you close it put or the wires will pull out easily. The parts express plug, link below, has a tight grip on the wires and there is no need for glue.

I haveolder radio shack 900mhz stereo head phones. it says it uses nimh 3.6volt 280mAh battery pack. I cannot find a replacement any where. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Most of the battery can be build and replace. Look at specialist like where you can buy any kind of battery cells, with tabs if need that you can weld, or make weld at your local electronic shop repair. Keeps the old pack, open it with a xacto without breaking it or a dremel and check how its made. its usually AA nimh battery...

I have the rs 120 plugged into power, the green light is on, I have the batteries in the headset, but I get no sound. The switch is on, the RC plugs into the back of the stereo, but no sound. Help, ps I...

You can get the PDF version of the instruction sheets here…

Since you did not go into detail about how you connected the headphones I will make some assumptions

If you plugged the RF connectors into the back of the amp.. make sure to note what that output is.. and that the output is selected on the amp. Then turn the sound on the amplifier up slowly.

The green light indicates you have some type of signal activating the headset.. if you have the headphones plugged into a tape out connection and your amp allows this connection to constantly act as a monitor.. you may be getting enough of a signal to activate the base.. but not enough of a signal to generate audio as that connection is a fixed signal and pretty much unamplified..

When experimenting with outputs on the amp.. remember to turn the amp off when switching connections.. and turn the volume down before turning it back on.. always turn the volume down between selecting outputs ..

Finally verify the headphones work by simply plugging them into a headphone jack..(if you did not get that connector you can pick one up at radio shack) and turning the volume up slowly on the amp..

Good luck

Didyou try taking the battery out of the headphone and replacing it? This may act as a reset and allow charging. I'm assuming that these headphones are not brand new, and that you are lining up the arrow on the one side with the arrow on the charging base. This is the only way the inductive charging can occur. Good luck!

solution: the directions state: if the TV volume is not tuned to at least 50 percent or more, the headphones will automatically shut themselves off after 4 minutes to limit electromagnetic waves in the room.
it's a simple solution. simply turn up the volume if the headphones stop working. i know, it happened to me as well--before i read that part of the instructions. take care.
