Question about Maxon HCB-10C CB Radio

2 Answers

Antenna alternatives I have a Maxon HCB-10C handheld, with its small rubber antenna. I'd like to use it in the car, but the standard magnetic-based external antenna doesn't have the right connector for the Maxon, which has a bayonnet-type base for the rubber antenna. I'd be grateful for your suggestions.

Hi if you go to any electrical repair shop they can sell you an adaptor to change the fitting also you can buy an end that you can fit onto the antenna yourself they are easy to do and its something you can do yourself and would cost next to nothing to do

Dose it work good like i live in a prtty good nabor hood dose it get good distance will it conect withe other bigger cb radios

Typically, this type of handheld has a useful range of approximately 1-2 miles. This distance will be increased with other radios being mobiles and base stations. Distances of 5 miles is possible if the other person has a good base station antenna. I would not expect much from the stock rubber ducky antenna.

The antenna base on my Maxon HCB-10C CB Radio got pulled out. Can I fix this?

Not sure what you mean here...

If the antenna is broke, then you should just get a new antenna. If the antenna connector was pulled out of the radio, it is usually fixable.

If the connector is broke off the antenna, it may may be fixable, I would have to see it. If its done wrong, you could hurt the transmit section of the radio.

You should just get a new antenna.

HOW TO INSTALL BATTERIES IN MAXON 27KC AND WHAT ARE THE TWO BLACK THINGS IN WITH THE BATTERIES

KC27 Maxon CB need 10 batterys rechargables 1.2 v for 12v total, use the most amperes or miliamperes possible, if you have a charger case or 27-CRDL Cradle for 27-KC you can use 13.8v regulated 5 amps. máx. but need external antenna. When you put a radio in charger case it switch to use external mic, voltage, antenna & speaker. Actually 2500 mAh "AA" battery is very common and cheap. You can charge batterys on to radio case, only need a 200 mAh eliminator at 15v for 6 hours.
