Question about Emerson EWL20D6 Television
Your TV has put itself into the Protection mode. Normally this will take place when the TV senses a failing board inside, and this usually means the main power board has malfunctioned. Usually either a transformer or a capacitor is no longer operating correctly. The board will quite often be called a Backlight Inverter Board. Without actually doing some troubleshooting it is impossible to be definitely sure what it is. There are some things that you can do. First if there is a warranty left on the unit then definitely have it checked out right away. If not then unplug the power cord and leave it unplugged for 30 minutes.
If you have the experience and tools you can download a copy of the service manual of one of the many sites on the web. They include a lot of the necessary troubleshooting steps as well as what you need to do to resolve the issue. I would only recommend this if you have the experience. There are lethal voltages inside TVs that have to be dealt with properly. The manual will instruct you on how to read the built in self diagnostic, how to put the TV into service mode, and how to ensure that you have fixed the issue. They will also have the complete parts list.
