I have a Splendide model 2100 washer dryer combination in a rv. It will not heat up. The dryer spins, but does not get hot. Suspect a thermo coupling problem. Where is it located?

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. No Heat issue in dryer is caused due to three things mainly: Thermal Fuse, Wiring Harness and/or Heating Element. Start with checking the Thermal Fuse which is mounted inside the back cover panel to the exhaust duct and is mounted in white plastic housing. If that’s fine then the Heating Element should be checked. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Dryer does not heat correctly code F31

The thermostat which is a round 2 wire control on the blower box on the back of the dryer controls the heat on all dryers. always shut off power when checking any electrical appliance. Clothes dryers are wired with 2 voltages, The 240 volt supply is for the heating element only, while the 120 volt supply gives power to the timer and motor that spins the drum and powers any lights and switches. If the heating element is coming on, try replacing the thermostat. As always unplug the dryer first.

Our dryer is about two years old. It is heating up, but only to a warm temperature. Clothes are not really drying and dryer is not hot even when on high temperature. Any thoughts?

If you have already cleaned the lint screen, have you checked the venting system? It is the 4" flexible hose that usually connects in the back of the dryer and leads all the way outdoors. Many times the vent is stopped up causing the dryer to overheat and run longer, maybe not even drying the clothes.

NOT DRYER CLOTHS LIKE IT USE TO TAKING MUCH LONGER

Check for clogs in the vent air line. If dryer lint or some obstruction is slowing the air flow it will take longer to dry clothes. Also the dryer may not be getting hot enough. Check to see if the clothes feel hot or warm when you reach inside. If it feels hot enough it is likely an issue with air flow. heat and air flow are required to dry clothes.

Whirlpool dryer is not drying properly. Have to go through a couple of cycles to dry clothes.

2 things are needed to dry clothes. 1 is good air flow. Check to make sure that the dryer vent is not clogged or partially clogged with lint. Also make sure there are no kinks in the vent hose. With the dryer running you should feel good air flow blowing out of the outside house vent. The 2nd thing a dryer needs heat. Check to see that the dryer feels warm to hot when you reach in to tough the clothes. It is possible that the heat element has partially failed. Another thing to investigate is how well the laundry machine is spinning out the water in the spin cycle. This spin cycle is used to get as much water out as possible prior to placing the clothes in the dryer. The wetter the clothes when they come out of the laundry, the longer it takes to dry them.

Dryer not heating as it should. Gets warm, but takes several cycles to dry clothes

Could be 2 things... either your heat source is out of repair or your vent is blocked. Since you say it only gets warm I'll assume the problem is with the gas coils inside the unit. These parts are replaceable

Gas Dryer Heats up very little, but not enough to dry my clothes

you need to check that for vent hose is not kinked if it is not then remove it from the dryer and see if it work right if it does then the vent tube that goes thourgh the wall has a blockage

Most common cause of this is a clogged venting going to the outside to test this remove the vent from the back of the dryer and run a load if it drys ok them you know you have a venting issue and will need to be cleaned out if not plz repost and we can look deeper into it
