Your post says you have an RX but the picture shows a SantaFe Classic.
In either case the massive frost build up is caused by a defective defrost thermostat. PN 4021470 Parts Dept 800-533-7533 x 8451
The defrost thermostat has an internal set of electrical contacts that are designed to open up and turn the compressor off when frost or ice has accumulated on the tubing and the evaporator coil. If the contacts fail to open, the compressor keeps running and the frost and ice just keep accumulating until such time as the homeowner unplugs the unit or a sevice tech replaces the defrost t-stat.

I just replaced the two filters in my Sante Fe Compact dehumidifier, and the coil and filters froze up in a week. The temperature is above 70 degrees. What could be the cause?

Air restriction in the connected ductwork.
Dirty coils reducing air flow thru dehumidifier.
Low refrigerant charge.

Phone the factory at 1-800-533-7533 for help troubleshooting.

The filter is getting ice on it when I turn it on.

If you haven't already, clean the filter after it has thawed. In addition, the coils behind the filter may need cleaning.

Turn the unit OFF & Unplug it. Remove the filter and the upper half of the front of the cabinet. Clean the cools with warm water and dish washing liquid. Rinse with a damp sponge, dry the coils and apply a light coating of WD40. Reassemble the cabinet, plug the unit in, turn it back ON and take it for a test drive. Be sure to clean the filter at least once every 2 weeks.

My Santa Fe RX dehumidifier is leaking lots of water. I manually filled the pan and pump came on, but as soon as I moved it around a bit, lots of water came out.

Your pump hose may be damaged or the adapter that connects the small hose to the pump may be loose. The pump itself may be damaged as well. Unfortunately this means that the unit must be partially disassembled in order to access the pump and associated tubing. The pump is located on the bottom of the dehumidifier next to the fan.

You can call Therma-stor service at 1-800-533-7533 for specific advice on your dehumidifier.

My Santa Fe RX runs for about 1/2 hr. The accumulator gets cold and than warm. Compressor & fan run. Humidity is set to max. No water is ever collected (I monitor the pump reservoir).I have removed the...

Are you keeping all of the metal covers in place while the machine is running? If you remove some of the metal covers, the fan may not move the air through the dehumidifier as intended.

If the compressor runs (with all of the metal covers in place) and the accumulator does not become cold, there are a few things that may be affecting your dehumidifier.

1. low refrigerant charge - you may have a refrigerant leak.
2. blocked capillary tube or broken expansion valve.
3. blocked air filter prevents enough air from moving through the dehumidifier.

Iced up coils and will not dehumidify

I did a little digging around on the internet and found out that if the basement (or where ever you have your unit) is in an area where the room temp might dip below 65 degrees the coils may start to become "too efficient" in pulling the moisture/humidity out of the air and it begins to freeze on the coils before it can drip off into the reservoir. The site said to turn off the unit and let it thaw out, then restart it and see if everything works ok after that. If the temperature gets too low you might need to warm up the air in the room/basement before it will operate correctly again/not continue to freeze up. Hope this helps. Mine just did the same thing but we've had some pretty cold weather recently and the basement is fairly cold as well.
