Question about AT&T Quickfire Cell Phone
I acidently droped it in my tub and it works and everything but i cant acces much because my touch screen wont except input. the actual buttons work (it can dial and receive calls and i can see text messages)
what do i do?
Clay, it sounds like the digitizer might have went bad when it received water damage. Touch screens are usually 3 parts. The 1st part (the part you actually touch with your fingers) is the outer glass. The 2nd part is the actual LCD that brings you picture. The 3rd part is the digitizer which is plugged in with a small ribbon cable and allows the LCD to sense your touch. This problem is pretty common even without water damage. You can actually purchase a new digitizer on Ebay for between $10-12 with free shipping. Whether or not you decide to attempt the replacement yourself will depend on your background with this type of equipment. It isn't extremely hard but I only say that because this is my area of expertise. You most likely have several areas of expertise that would boggle my mind. If you are unsure at all about installing it yourself, contact someone in your area that you trust to do this. I hope this helps you! Don't forget to vote thumbs up if it does.
