There is a small pinhole in the face of the dvd drive. Use a paperclip to poke into the hole. It will force an eject of the dvd drive. You can also explore the computer, right mouse click on the drive letter of the dvd drive, choose "eject"....
If it still will not eject, unplug the ribbon cable from the drive but keep the power plugged in, then press the eject button. If worse comes to worse, four small screws, and you can remove the shell of the drive exposing the dvd inside....
Good luck!!!!

My disk is in the cd/dvd and it wont eject the cd/dvd is less than a year old. why is it stuck?

Anonyomous,
You should have a small pin hole on the front of the face of the cd/dvd drive that you could put a small paper clip in and eject the cdrom drive. Make sure the computer is off before sticking the the paper clip in the drive.

I have a dell xps M1330. My 4 year old daughter somehow managed to get 2 cds inside the cd drive and now I can't get out. Need help! Thanks.

On the front face place of your CD player, next to the button you use to eject/open the CD caddy, you should see a very small hole. Using a paperclip, insert the paperclip and gently press in the paperclip. It should release the caddy.

Try to maunal eject is from "My Computer". Right click on the drive and click eject. If that doesn't work, then you need to replace the drive.

My CD will not eject out of my Dell XPS One Desk

It is possible that a CD may have become stuck within the CD-ROM drive. If the CD-ROM drive has a small hole (that is not the head phone jack), using a paper clip, place the paper clip within the hole and attempt to manually eject the CD-ROM tray.

If the CD-ROM drive is only partially able to be opened, attempt to pull the tray gently to see if it can be manually ejected. If it cannot be opened any further, it is likely that the gears within the CD-ROM drive have become bad, dislodged, or that a CD is positioned in the drive, which does not allow it to open.

I have found that if a software program is locking the CD, power off the computer, power on and immediately try to eject the drawer when the first image comes on the screen. Try several times before the OS comes up.

Dell xps m1330 dvd drive will not eject cd inside

Im a dell tech, and i hate those cdrom styles, but, that is what the consumer wants, so we make them. Try starting the machine, then press F2 to enter the BIOS. once in the bios, press the eject button. listen for any noises, (an attempt to eject). if you hear a sound, it means the drive should be capable of ejecting the disc, and perhaps the disc has not seated correctly. If the disc will not eject, you must contact Dell. This is from the DELL dcse site: " Optical Drive The XPS M1330 has a slot-loading optical drive instead of a conventional tray-loading module. There is no mechanical eject mechanism for the drive to eject stuck discs. This means you must replace the drive if a disc gets stuck in the drive. After replacing the drive, disassemble the old drive to remove the disc for the customer."

CD Wont eject

Tried in Safe Mode Windows? Worst case is the shut it down, straighten a small paper clip, push it into the small hole on the surface of the DVD-ROM cover (It's a standard to have one). It should eject!
If system will not eject the CD due to a software locked it down, please list softwares the XPS have installed.
