New Troy-Bilt 3000 psi - Very Hard to Hot Start

Purchased new 3,000 psi Pressure Washer, easy assembly, added oil and fresh gasoline, connected to 25+ psi water supply, and was delighted when engine started on the first pull. Unfortunately, subsequent hot starts were very difficult. In several cases, could not get engine re-started until it cooled down. Finally reached the stage where I could get the engine started if I held down the trigger on the Spray Gun. This is really awkward since it is very hard to hold down the trigger, hold the unit, and pull the starter rope at the same time.....Very disappointed in hot starting capabilities of this pressure washer....

Put a ball valve on your garden hose and connect it to the power washer. Start your power washer on high idle, then turn the ball valve on. You will find out it is very easy to start without any pressure on the pump.

When you run the unit and shut if off, release the pressure from the spray wand before trying to restart the engine. This built up pressure will cause it to be very hard to start as you have found out. If it does not start on the second pull release the pressure again. Another option is do do what I did on mine. I simply put a pull tie on the handle so I can pull the trigger back and use the pull tie to hold the trigger open. Make sure if you do this, that you remove the high pressure orifice from the end of the wand before attempting to start the engine. Otherwise the pressure will come on abruptly and could injure you or do property damage.

All outflow stops when I start the motor on my Troy-bilt 2600 pressure washer. What's up?

Could also be crack/leak in HP pump. If it were left in cold weather without antifreeze, I'd check there first. Part + labor might warrant new washer if more than a couple years old.

Troy-bilt pressure washer 3000 max psi 2.7 gpm not getting gas

The carburetor ports and jets are likely clogged with gum from fuel that contains Ethanol. Avoid using any gasoline that contains Ethanol in small engines. Use only 100% gasoline. You can try the simple method first by adding some Lucas to the gasoline and a tad bit directly into the carburetor. Also, remove the bowl under the carburetor to see if it's gummed up and stopping the float from setting and rising. Simply clean the gum off with carburetor cleaner and replace the bowl. If this doesn't work then you'll likely need to remove the carburetor and do a thorough cleaning on it. Be sure to replace with new gaskets.

Power washer stalls after spraying

Your pressure relief valve may not be working. If that happens when you shut off your spray gun, then pump is dead heading, stopping the motor. If this is the case it stops dead, not coasting. Either replace the pressure adjusting relief valve or remove it, and disassemble it and clean it.
