Sony usually updates the PlayStation store every Tuesday and Thursday. During those days the store will be down for a very short amount of time to allow sony to upload the new content and while this happens all users will get this DNS error. If it happens during other days and you are using a wireless connection, be sure to have the system close to the wireless modem to ensure that there are no hiccups in connection, that would cause this problem.

SOURCE: 100% internet connection but PSN won't let me login

That is very common, I too get that DNS error while attempting to log in. Im pretty sure it is just the playstation servers. For me it usually takes like 20-30 minutes until they get it running again or if your anxious to play just keep trying, sometimes it might only take 5 or 10 min. Hope this was helpfull.

When I try to Update games on PSN I get error 80710092, I can connect to PSN and I can even play games that don't need to be updated online. But for some reason I just can't get games to update.

I don't know if this pertains to you, but when I connected my PS3 to a Netgear router/wireless I had all sorts of connection and DNS errors. I switched to a D-Link 655 and have no more issues.

My ps3 has an error 80710092 how do i fix it

  1. Change your DNS settings manually on the PS3 via XMB > Network Settings > Internet Connection Settings > Manual. Just allow the default entries until you get to dns, select manual and change it to 8.8.8.8 for the main dns and 8.8.4.4 for the secondary dns.
  2. Go to your router settings, select dmz and add your ps3 IP address to the list and select apply. You can see your ps3 IP address in XMB > Network Settings > Settings and Connection Status list.
  3. Change the password for your PSN account. The easiest way to do so it to log in via their website on a computer.
  4. Restart your ps3, sign in using your new password and you should be good to go :)

With the strong flux of up and down time that the PSN is going through right now, it might not be you, it might be them. Try and find the status of the PSN to make sure that it isn't you.

We are unable to hook up to the internet

Are you trying to log-in/sign-up on the Playstation Network, if so, the PSN is currently down due to "external intrusions". Sony is working around the clock to restore service to the PSN. Though there is no given timeframe, Sony said that the PSN should be back in a day or two.
This maintenance will eventually help improve the quality of PSN and improve its stability.

Else, there might be a problem with your connection settings if you are connected to the router but can't use the PS3's web browser. Try changing the DNS.
Go to Internet Settings > Automatic > DNS - Manual
set this as your DNS
208.67.222.222 208.67.220.220 that is OpenDNS...in most cases it should work if you're encountering a DNS error.

I can't sign in online I dnt no y but says DNS error

Following on from the PS3 3.50 firmware update today, we have started to hear of owners having problems logging on to their accounts.

We have heard of PS3 owners who have updated their system complaining that they cannot sign in, and every time they enter their password are getting the wrong password message. We have had customers who have two PSN accounts and cannot log into either of them. They are met with wrong password message, and even when they use "Forgot your Password" all that comes up is an error.

Conrad Zimmerman of Destructtoid is reporting that PSN is going to have some scheduled maintenance today. This could be why users are complaining of problems logging on to their accounts.

The maintenance is expected to take place during 8 am until 5pm Pacific time. There will be a lot of users who are at work during this time so it will not be a problem for them, but for everyone else it will be somewhat of an annoyance.
