I've tried every description in the book that I can think of. I don't have my original driver, so some solutions are not available.

  • joaninbend Apr 25, 2010

I have tried using a USB to connect the printer to the computer through a wireless router, using the wireless router IP address and the WPA password, and when I go to print a test page, it will not work.

Well, I've explained my problem, and gotten no answer. What's the deal????

I can not get my wireless router to find my or take my ip address

Hi,
Your wireless router once you connect to it will give out an IP. You can only setup in the router software what your machines MAC address and preset it to be given an IP of your choice.

So in short your wireless computer should find the wireless router via.. SSID and its password then once authenticated your machine will be given and IP and gateway to access your network.
If you are having trouble connecting to the wireless router. Then I suggest connecting to it via the wire first make the needed adjustments and then retry the wireless connectivity.
this link will bring you to the manual for your router http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=DIR-615&tab=3

GL
hope this helps

Have install netgear range booster to wireless router but says limited connectivity

This can occur when the wireless adapter has trouble connecting to the wireless router.
It may not get an IP address from the router or the wireless adapter encryption setting didn't get an the encryption authentication from the router.
In this case right click on the wireless adapter on the Task bar and click Repair. This will make the router re-issue an IP address and authenticate the adapter's encryption setting.

Trouble connecting to router

Make sure SSID broadcast is switched on under wireless settings. You will have to connect via ethernet cable first to do this.
Then, if PC's can see it, once logged in and set to automatic you can turn off SSID if you like.
Personally I leave it on and set high security using MAC addresses so I don't mind if my router broadcasts it's existence.

Connecting a brother hl2170 wirless printer to a linksys wrt54g

Take note all the wireless settings of the router first. Now go to the printer and Press Menu/Settings, look for wireless setup wizard. It should find the network, highlight it and connect. If it asks you for the network key, type your wireless network key. It only allows WPA-Personal(TKIP) and WEP. If you have WPA2 or AES, it will not connect

Cant connect ps3 wireless to dlink router

The router should assign an IP address to your PS3 if it isn't manually configured. If you are connecting wirelessly make sure your security setting on your PS3 match your router. If the problem persists disable wireless security on your router and then try to connect with the PS3 with security disabled as well. Sometimes consoles have trouble connecting with WEP or WPA security encryption.

Trouble Connecting

The modem only attaches to one address following boot. Turn off the modem, turn off your wireless router...turn on the modem, wait several seconds for it to boot and then attach it to to the wireless router. Start the wireless router. Attach with your computer through the ethernet to the router first and configure it to use DHCP over wireless. Then attampt connecting to the access point over wireless. If it works, then configure WEP. Be sure to use the Hex key that it generates and not the WEP key you built it from. For example, if your password is "Rosebud" use the one it creates that looks like "fcae9969e..."
