HELP ME REPLACE THE LENS ON MY KODAK!!!

I have a kodak m853 and it seem as if the internal lense
is broken, when i turn it on only a big black spot and cracks along the screen appear. Is there a way i can fix it
rather than spending almost the same amount of money i paid for the camera on a repair? Thanks for your time!

I cant suggest that you attempt to fix it yourself, is it possible the lcd screen is damaged? take it to a local camera or electronics shop and price check repair costs, you could also check ebay for a do-it-yourself repair setup.

Kodak M853. The lense will not retract, and the outer lense is crooked.

Unfortunately, many cameras that fall prey to lens error problems can only be corrected by professional repair. But, here are some last resort troubleshooting steps that you can try that may correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty (or repair cost approaches that of the camera), they're worth that try.

I dropped my kodak digital camara and when it fell it landed on the lens. Now the lens will not come out, is there anyway to fix the lens?

Hi, the lens may have been knocked crooked, unless you can straighten it you won't be able to get the lens to come out.
Look at it closely to see if it looks uneven on its edge. The other possiblilty is that a circuit has been knocked loose or broken inside.
the only thing you can try is 1. Knock it straight if its crooked. 2. take it apart to do a visual of the insides.
Because these cameras
cost around $150 its not worth sending in for repair.

Try helping the camera to retract using your fingers while you turn camera off, try also helping lens to full extent if they don't.if you do not succeed in this simple way the camera lens must be taken apart and reassembled at a repair shop.

Lens broken

Not easily fixed. Sounds like you stripped the feeds for the lense, and it messed up the contacts. Try sending it to Kodak for repair, or taking it to a camera repair place. These devices are sensitive electronics, so you won't be able to fix it at home. Sorry.
