I cannot get it apart to clean. - Wolfgang Puck Bistro 620 Food Processor

I still cannot seperate the glass piece from the rest of the unit to clean.

  • petersh Apr 25, 2010

the motor part is not an issue. I am trying to seperate the glass piece just from the piece that holds the cutting piece. There is an encasement that just shows no way of being seperated, yet particles of food can get in there.

Hold the unit sideways over the sink
run hot water over the container portion, try to avoid the motor but no worries if you get it a little wet
keep the hot running water over until you can separate the pieces... may need a second set of hands

do you have the glass part with the chute?
in other words can you add stuff inside without taking it apart right now?
if so...try adding boiling water inside, letting it sit for at least 15 minutes and then the try to remove

if still no luck you could submerse the whole think in hot water for hours to separate but you will have to let the motor dry for weeks before you EVERY try to plug it in

I know the motor is not an issue, but if you soak the WHOLE unit you will also soak the motor

doing this is dangerous since you will then ingest water into the electronics

however, since the container has seized itself to the base you are running out of options

I removed the handle to clean under it and the parts came out and I cannot figure out how to put it back together.

I haven't seen any Kitchen Aid processors where the handle part of the bowl is dismantlable. I think you will find it is broken and you are up for a new bowl. The cover is normally glued on with no intention that it was ever going to be taken apart.

The cup with the blade is stock onto the motor part, how do i take it apart?

There is no trick, just brute force. You will need to renew the chopping blade and the plastic sleeve it fits on to as both will be damaged and it will happen again, more easily each time. Your local Kitchen Aid service agent will have figured out a tool to get them off. My tool involves a chain shackled around the centre of the blade and the other end attached to my bench. I accelerate the motor unit away from the bench by hand and when the chain goes bang tight the blade comes off. No bowl damage that way. Similar method to remove motor sleeve with hole drilled through top of shaft sleeve for shackle.

Magic bullet base is full of particles

Yes its easy to take the Magic Bullet apart.

1. First pry out the 4 black rubber feet on the base with small screwdriver and unscrew the 4 cross head screws revealed below.

2. Remove this black base to reveal the inner black base Unscrew the cable clamp - 2 screws and the 3 screws that retain the remaining black base to the body of the bullet - slide it off over the power cable.

3. Turn the bullet the proper way up and pry out the 3 white rubber bumpers with a screw driver blade that are set inside for the cup to rest on - each is located with two rubber pins. Once all 3 are removed you will reveal 3 more cross head screws - these countersunk - remove all 3 and then the internal motor will be free to lift out through the top of the Bullet casing.

4. Its possible to slip out the 3 white plastic sliders - taking care to note how they seat each on a small spring to cleanup both the slides and the sliders.

To re assemble step by step in reverse - noting to align the motor cable with the cutouts on the bullet base.

Base gear for the top of the base

Carefully take it apart and clean it thoroughly. If you see any burnt wires, trying replacing those if you know how to replace one. As for the plastic gear on the power base, it can be easily replaced with any ordinary similar coupler of the same size, for example like the one KitchenAid supplies (Blending coupler 9704230). The only catch here is that you need to replace the coupler on the base of your choppers as well. This would be a better idea considering getting rid of the cheap plastic used in these blenders and the need for long-term use.

I Cuisanart mini prep and removed the bowl, lid,

Make sure the tab on the lid is making contact with the "tower" in the back and that the work bowl is locked properly into place so that the plastic tabs show on each side toward the bottom of the work bowl.

Power is available (light is one) but nothing

Sounds like a safety feature working. Unplug. Take apart as if you are going to clean it. Check all parts carefully to see if there is anything broken, like a nub.(Are all parts there?) Put back together, making sure they are fully engaged. Plug in and try. This happened to my food processor and it was a bit of dried food stuck in the bowls sliding track that kept it from clicking fully connected. Hope this helps!

Blade will not release

Our blade just came apart at the seam just above the blade, so we know what's inside. There is a small v-shaped piece of spring wire that is spread apart from the stem that is mounted to the machine. When the button is depressed (it's on a tiny spring, like a mattress spring, and that's what makes it bouncy), it spreads the v-spring wire and releases it. If you can get the seam apart, it will release the v wire and not damage the machine. Replacement blades are available on-line for $13.95, and whole machines are available on e-bay. Good luck.
