Question about Computers & Internet
Samung R20 Laptop initially had time ''racing '' forward. Time reset and changing internet synch clocks held time correct for about 4 minutes, then it started running at 30 -60 times to fast.
Updated Bios from Samsung, reset clocks and internet synch. Ran fine whilst powered up, but time stops when switched off.
I assume it is the cmos battery which has failed. Laptop is two years old. Never come across a cmos battery packing up in a laptop in over 10 years!
Does anybody know where the cmos battery is located and is my diagnosis correct please?
It sounds like the cmos batt had the same problem with my desk top once changed cmos batt all was fine .the batt is located on the under side of the laptop you will see some removeable panels just check under these, but be carefull the batt might be soldered in, some are some are not. if soldered in you might want to get a professional to change it as the heat could damage your computer.
hope this helps.
