If the thermal fuse blows it is a direct result of heat. The most common place for the heat to be generated is the wire connections to the fuse, the wire connections on the main control board and the door switch.

The thermal fuse comes with a small wire kit, be sure you or the technician used that wire kit if not you will continue to have trouble. If you have then look the board over closely, especially the black plastic plugs, if you see any dark spots or loose connections make sure to tighten them up. Then check the wires to the door switches make sure they are tight connections. If all these are okay then check the gasket on the left side that surrounds the vent, if heat escapes this gasket it can migrate over toward that thermal fuse.

I hope this helps

Thermal fuse blown on kenmore dryer what is the cause

The thermal fuse blows when the vent gets restricted and builds up too much heat. After it gets to a certain point the thermal fuse blows. Clean out the vent, keep the lint trap clean, and hopefully your problems will go away.

My kenmore 70 dryer quit heating but runs like it should, does it have fuses inside the dryer? we have a breaker bos and breaker not tripped.

Hi,

Hi,

Thermal Fuse is located inside the dryer, If the thermal fuse gets too hot, it will blow, and completely shut down your dryer until it is replaced. This fuse is often mounted within the exhaust duct in the back panel. It’s about an inch long, and is usually found within a white plastic housing. When fuses blow, it means they have no continuity and no power will flow through it. A bad thermal fuse needs to be replaced. When replacing this fuse, check the dryer vents to make sure there is no lint buildup which can cause the heat to stay trapped and blow the fuse again.

Good luck and have a nice day
Rating the solution is highly appreciated.

Where are fuses located on kenmore dryer part#3394996 one of the connecters on heating element sparked and im thinking it blowed a fuse

Dryers have a thermal fuse... it's a ceramic 2-3 inch long resin-filled fuse with wires attached at both ends... near the motor...inside the dryer..
The other fuse would be your house circuit breaker panel. Check the thermal fuse..

No heat...replaced vent hose...still no heat. Model 110 72922100 Sears Kenmore 90 Series. Please advise.

Hello Friend, Your problem is very simple to fix. You need a thermal fuse, very simple and affordable to replace. To replace the thermal fuse just remove back cover of dryer and look down where the air blows out. Now, just to the left where all the wires are you will see a white plastic part with two wires plugged into it. This part is called a thermal fuse. Just remove these wires and replace the thermal fuse. Your dryer will run like new. Happy to help, Tim. And please don't forget to give me your rating for my help.
